I've been following internet marketing and websites intently for about 2 years + now, reading what other carpet cleaners are seeing as results are far better in the south than the north although the Yellow book is diminshing in all but most areas and I believe this will continue.
There are alot of cleaners on here that come from the Essex region and Surrey regions that get the most enquiries to jobs at higher prices. Is this because of the more affluent and easy come nature of get someone off the computer as apposed to trawling through the YP looking up anyone and everyone.
Little villages and towns seem to cover these areas IMO helping the CC keep unique as apposed to the North where big cities engulf the region making alot more competition at cheaper prices (some silly) my question being
"do you think the internet will end up like the YP and become fully subscribed and the price of carpet cleaning will come down?"
At the moment internet marketing is still in its infancy but as the adverts at the top of Google etc get more and more the top rankings will either get taken up by larger companies with more to spend or the free listing after SEO will go onto page 2.

This is my fear Shaun.
I cant help but think that Google (like any greedy corporate entity) will eventualy do just that - let the big boys take over and the freebies can sod off.
But the other side of the coin suggets that if this were to happen - then joe public will take offence to all these sponsored companies being rammed down their throats and go to a different search engine.
However...if they do it in such a way that it doesnt 'look' sponsored then they may get away with it ???
I think I'm thinking about it too much - I'm gonna have another drink to take my mind off of it ;D
