So just how much, MS spray do you use on carepts and upholstery.
Much has been said about "Dont over spray, just a mist will do." Well sometimes, a lot in fact, when I am misting a suite, it doesnt feel like the fabric is wet at all and the tendancy is to mist some more and eventually end up over misting. My question is simple - On the average cotton mix suite, how much diluted mix would you go through and what size jet do you use for carpets, when using a hydro force or similar. I MS cleaned a suite today, cotton mix all loose seat and back cushions, used 2.5 ltr of mixed solution - not enough or too much? Cleaned up well but was only lightly soiled with no ground in patches.

I would use 1 to 1 1/2 litre of mixed for a suite that size.
When i first started i used more, but now more confident and i find i can use less but produce the same results

Dave,
Same as Paul.
Today a polly/cotton 1x3, 1x2, 1x1, 4xscatter cushions.
All cushions double-sided, carcase all face fabric.
Medium general soiling with lots of chocolate fingerprints.
Used 1.25 Ltrs.

Are you using pump up sprayers or electric?
I wrote in another thread last night, I am having trouble getting good results with m/s, did a really bad suite yesterday, tried out m/s and it hardly touched it, had to revert to trad chemicals in the end which lifted it out no bother.
I used a pump up sprayer, One Step @ 10:1 dilution, fine mist spray, which just darkened the material, agitated with soft brush and then extracted with clean water, not clean, repeated whole process without success

Just to add to this,i use m/s and get great results,i have found that the hotter the solution, the better the result, last night i cleaned a big car dealership, close loop polyprop, that was full of tea/coffee, and large oil stains,by using the solution hot,it all came out no problem. try using m/s hot then agitate well,it works!

Lion heart
I have not tried one step as i use solutions m/s.
I use a trigger spray bottle for suites as I find I can adjust it better to create a mist.
Re concenration of chemical again not using one step I dont know if 1 to 10 dilution is correct. When I first used solutions I found I was not diluting it enough ,by trial and error with my results I have found that a dilution of 1 to 14 is perfect for normal soilage.
But remember the trick is in the agitation.
Hope this helps

Hi Dave
Would use about the same as you for cleaning. If its heavy soiling would use a detergent rinse.
