Title: Wording for Flyers?
Post by: Kevin Foxton on May 03, 2008, 03:26:32 pm: I am just about to get some flyers printed, anyway I plan on keeping it very simple with just.

Window cleaning (Title)

Local
Regular and reliable
One off cleaning
All year window cleaning
Fully insured
Free no obligation Estimates

My Name and Mobile Telephone No and Email

My home address and land line will be on my business card but not the flyer
which I will give to all new customers.

One more thing that I am thinking of including on the flyer in red

Limited number of places available for regular window cleaning so phone now to avoid disappointment

To be honest I am not sure about the last bit , what do you think?

The first lot I've stopped putting out and just put down to experience (which is cheap at any price) The last bit in red might just make people think they are going to miss out, you know what people are like, so it could make them poick up the phone. Personally I put my landline and mobile on. But it seems a good leaflet short, simple and lets them know everything they need to.

Some potential customers may be put off by thinking maybe a £10.00 clean may end up being £15.00.

I do it and loads of customers have commented on it. Think about it from their point of view, they don't know you, why should they trust you?

I Think your right about putting my name and address on them, What about small print at the bottom?

No no no no. I had this when I first started, I wasn't sure whether to put it on or not. In the end I didn't and when the threats from the brave men hiding behind hidden numbers started to tell me they would get me one dark night I was so glad my address wasn't on the leaflet. I don't think it hurt me in any way customer wise either.

The flier is great. Simple to read and to the point. But definitely leave out the line in red because people just won't be pressurized into picking up the phone. Also it smacks of "I need the work...NOW!" But as I say the rest is great.

That does worry me, I will have to look into some other way that you can give the customer some reassurance without putting my own security at risk. Maybe my local council have some kind of scheme, I will give them a ring next week.

in this day and age, where everyone has a mobile phone, people run a biz from a mobile all day, its a 24 hour thing

When you go to do your quotes take the documentation and show it to everyone you quote for.

Yes, I know it's fussy, but so are quite a few of your customers.

And get it spell checked and proof read by someone you trust who has an eye for detail.

Yes, put phones numbers:

Office number:
Mobile number:
Email:

I'd avoid putting your address. You might put something like;

Fred Bloggs Window Cleaning Inc
cleaning windows in and around Cheltenham

I'd agree with dropping the line in red as well. Most people will simply scoff at it.
