Hi, I use minibore tubing as my main hose from trolley to pole. I want a miniature hozelock reel to fix onto my trolley. I actually saw a black hozelock one in a customers garden once but have yet to ask where they got it from! I've scoured all places like ebay and b & q and can't find one anywhere. Anybody got one or know where to get one or if there is a hose reel especially made for tubing? Say the side of a regular hose reel is about 30 cms wide, I could do with one about half the size. Thanks.

minibore????
why do you want a small reel then
microbore is more compact ???
if you want to mount hose on trolley get a cheap "half moon " hose hanger from wilkos and mount it on uprights of trolley frame
imo just get a reel tho
or use long pole hose
dont really get why you want a "small " reel ???

I think it's so that he can wheel the trolley to the house and run the hose (from hosereel) around the house in one go without moving the trolley.
Best thing would be to swap the minibore for microbore hose and store just enough on a half moon or simply extend the length of pole hose used to overcome this need for a hosereel mounting on your trolley.
-
That didn't really answer my Q but thanks for the attention ;)
Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. I use tubing instead of the yellow hose as it's lighter and takes up less room on a trolley system. Looking for a compact reel to fix on trolley so as it would take up less room, would be lighter, and the one I saw would easily hold 100 metres of tubing. I like to park the trolley in one spot at each house so I'm not messing about moving it.
What exactly is a half moon?
-
P.S. I meant microbore tubing on the first post (D'oh!).
Also I want a reel as I think it'd be a lot quicker winding the tubing up rather than wrapping it in loops around the handle as I do at the moment between houses. See what I mean?
-
could you not make something like this from purefreedom and attach to side of trolley

a half moon is just a cheap plastic hanger
i used one on trolley to start out with
pain in ###
just get a small plastic hozelok reel and use microbore on that
-
Thanks for the ebay link, I'm trying to get out of wrapping it around something and want to reel it up as it'd be quicker and would keep my hands free of dirt and grit.
That's what I'm looking for. A cheap plastic reel, as small as possible. Like I mentioned in my first post, I saw a plastic hozelock reel in a customer's garden and it was about half the size of the regular size reel(which is to bulky to fix on a trolley - I've tried it!). I've not found one on the hozelock website or anywhere else I've looked online and places like B & Q and Homebase offline.

That's the normal size hose reel. And way too big and heavy for a little trolley. I'm looking for one half the size.
Thanks though!! Keep searching ;)

go on ebay
search hose reels
look at the kingfisher 20m one
that looks about size i mean
-
i thought most hose reels hold 30 meter which is what i have in garden but the link i put on is 10 meter
-
yeah i've seen that kingfisher reel on ebay, but seriously there's one that's half the size. It's like a mini reel. It's driving me crazy not finding it! I'm gonna have to steal that one from my customers garden ;)

I have the perfect reel for you, I know because we have 4 of them. Only prob is the northern tool website isn't responding at the mo - I'll post the link asap. Powder coated, £30 and holds over 90m of microbore.

I bought a small hosereel from them about 5 years ago, absolute rubbish, it fell to bits in no time.

This isn't an argument, you're simnply contradicting me...

I have the Winsprey hose reel that's in the picture (www.windows101.com)(Winspray). I have it fastened to a trolley and it's great for microbore hose. Mine holds 50 metres - but that's its limit.

Thanks i'll check it out!

Thanks for that. The only thing is is I see that it's for a power-washer. Would it work for wfp? Does it have the same hose connectors?

I wasn't arguing with you, I was just stating a fact.

In the end I found exactly what I was looking for on ebay. There was just one item in the whole of ebay.
And after all that, my brother inlaw had one and gave it me!
I'll post a pic if it would help anyone who are looking for similar.
-
Hello a pic would be gteat as i am also looking for a small reel for my trolley
.
Thanks ;D
-
I fastened a Hozelock reel to my trolley. I used electrical ties to fasten the trolley base to the handle/frame above the 25litre bottle. That worked okay; I have it all van mounted now.

just leave the trolley in the van and get yourself a proper reel and 100m of microbore , much easier regards alan

Tim82
yes they do work perfectly well, much better than the silly little plastic reels, much cheaper and better than the big clumsy ones that all the wfp suppliers sell.
like I say we have them in both the transporter and expert
-
Hello Tim82 sorry to pester you but any chance of a picture of your hose reel.
I can't find one anywhere.
Thank You

Hi, I'll try and remember to take a pic while I'm out working Friday.
-
Hi, just for closure, I found a small hose reel perfect for my needs, from ebay. It's great for having attached to my trolley or just stood behind the car. So they are out there if you need one...
It's perfect for holding 100 metres of microbore.
Here's a couple of photos just incase anyone needs something similar, I've included a 12 inch squeegee in there for size reference!
-
Another update..... after a while that last reel turned out to be rubbish because the connector inside at the centre of the reel was at an angle so the microbore would get twisted and the connector would pop off.
But if there is any other trolley users that want a good mini hose reel, I found an even better one perfect for fixing onto your trolley, and what's more they seem to have worked out the kinks (to use a pun).........
I found this really good "karcher" mini hose reel at B&Q for £20. The connectors that come with it are really strong and they don't come off easily or leak. The connection inside the reel is straight rather than at an angle so it turns round easily without popping off. It also comes with a wall hanging thing that is perfect for fixing onto your trolley with two screws. The reel hangs, but also clicks down firmly, so it's easy to connect and disconnect.

The only thing about that (if it's an electric cord reel)is that without a connector inside, the hose will get twisted when you reel it out/up.
