Hi DJW, can be depressing/irritating can't it?
I don't tend to work in the rain if avoidable, but I got out yesterday early to beat the rain and got stuck in.
I was lucky, because here around Bristol there were huge grey clouds by late morning and I was about to knock it in the head when I thought stuff it - grit yr teeth and carry on.
Half an hour later it cleared and brightened up and I got a really good day in!
Someone on here said don't stop until 3 custy's tell you it's raining too much - I don't go that far but it's obviously do-able!
Chin up!

Sart canvassing for fascia cleans, you can clean them in the rain ;)
-
I've priced my work so I can earn enough in 3 days to get by. So i can get my work done even if it rain 3 days a week. I very rarely get behind.
-
I leave a day or two free so I can catch up if needed, so no problems with the rain here...

today i worked in the rain :(
6 normal sized houses, 4 of them retired, i did the conserv roof of 1 of them for extra
out of the 6 houses, 2 were out ( thus no chance of complaints )
the lady who i did the conserv roof and house was happy with me, as i did th eroof aswell
1 asked " is it worth doing " i said, well look ive just done mrs whatever in the dry and its raining, so her will be wet aswell now
1 said " are you doing them in the rain " i replied " i have to, i have to earn money " she then said " oh i know my dear, but we all prefere them done when its not raining, but its ok every now and then "
the other 2 didnt say anthing
i then went and did a big house which i knew they would be out, a doctor and a head teacher at a private school, they have had builders in for the last 3 months, so they were filthy, at least with the rain on them they will not comaplain :P

I worked today in the rain for the very first time. Arrived in the dry, but it started raining 5 mins into the job...then it started peeing down. Was doing ins as well so went inside and cracked on there...then when it eased off a bit went back outside...then back inside...then back out....etc etc etc
I could see the lady didn't like it...but she didn't say anything.
I can't say it's something I'd be too eager to repeat, but all in all it wasn't too bad....
well that's my adventure for today ;D

Been bad here since late November, begining of December, - 5 months of the year now. never known anything like it and we are promised a normal british summer ! that means rain and thunder and lightening. Depressed aint the word for it.
By now I would be back on schedule from the Chrimbo break, I nearly get back on track and then we get some more weather.
Lucky I have half my round as commercial/shops.

It's absolutely incredible how many people believe the old wife's tale that you can't clean windows in the rain, and that the rain is so dirty. Lol, I've never seen windows come up dirty after a good downpour. Clean them right, and they stay clean after a downpour. Time and time again, I expect the windows with a magnifying glass, and they are beautiful.
One condition, do not use fairy, the whole film on the glass breaking up leaving spots story. That's probably where the thing originated from.
Solution? Train your customers, and inform them about the truth.

Well I havent missed a single minute of cleaning because of the weather....ever. Luke

To be honest I think customers can be trained, but for myself I really don't like getting wet.

i will clean in rain, but was out yesterday doing some gutter cleaning. I heard some thunder, but it was way in the distance so i kept going, then there was a sudden flash of lightening. i looked round and realised i was the highest point on the landscape with a 20ft lightening rod at my feet. :o :o :o :o :o
i decided it was a good time to go canvassing, got three new jobs ;D

imo if looks unprofessional if you dont.
IMO the reason you dont work in the rain is because you dont like getting wet (bless0 I work in the rain I am in no way unprofessional in my way of working.
Maybe just maybe you old wifes tale you have heard or have been installed into you for to mant years is way wrong, trad cleaning in the rain no, wfp makes mo difference, welcoem to 2008 ;) no knocking at you for it, just i DO IT DAILY AS DO MANY OTHERS ;D
-
I have to admit I fail to see how cleaning in the rain 'looks unprofessional' I would like someone explain why some see this as so..
Cheers
Dave. :)

I had a good day today - i just seemed to be in the right place at the right time. I would have got even more done if i hadn't have had so many old people on my round wanting to invite me in and chat. Enjoyed it though, beautiful surroundings - one of the most scenic valleys in the area.
