I've seen for sale 60psi pumps with bout 5 ltr / min flow rate, and 100psi pumps with only 4 ltr / min flow rate.


Someone explain it to me, as you would to a thick child!  :: :-\

i like th elook of flojet 95psi with a basic eco-flow unit - good combo ?

The Flojet pumps are great.

The flow rate is probably the most important point for actual use. This governs how much water you get out of your brush head. Remember you can always turn a flow rate down from its maximum, but you cannot increase it from its maximum.

PSI is the setting at which the pump pressure switch turns itself off at. Also it dictates how high the pump can push the water. A 40psi pump would probably;y switch itself off too soon if using a 40ft pole.

I have found that about 75-80psi is about the best all round PSI setting for WFP use.

so when you use say eco-flow or varistream that's what lowers the psi and the flow rate innit!?

100psi 4ltr / min shurflo vs 95psi flojet 5.6 ltr / min = flojet must be the winner - like you say you can always turn it down but not up ?

I've a 100 psi pump, and I'm considering switching to an independent pressure switch at 70 or 80 psi.
I find that with 100mtrs of minibore attached and the flow controller turned down low, the pump can be running for quite some time after the flow is stopped before the pressure builds up enough for the switch to kick in.

I do not use electronic flow controllers on my pumps. I use a 100 psi Flojet fitted with a 60psi pressure switch which I then tighten up a bit until it is about 70-80psi. You can also tune down a 100psi to about the same setting

I didn't know they were adjustable!
I'll have a look at mine tomorrow! My heater is controlled by the pump,.. so the sooner the pump cuts out after I stop the flow, the better for me.
