Title: Debt collecting
Post by: steve smith on April 27, 2008, 08:27:47 pm
Has any one used these before

www.thomashiggins.com/index.html

Have a customer that is not paying, can`t seem to catch her in and not answering the phone.

Was just thinking of sending the Letter before action and see if it works.

Just wanted some feedback if any one had used them.

Thanks

Before that, how much we talkin'?

IMO, less than £50 first I would call and if not in put a note through. Then a week later do the same with a stronger worded note. Then the following Sunday turn up at 8 am (early but reasonable time) and she should be in!

If none of that works I'd consider my future actions.

is there a reason why they are not in , i had a customer like this could never catch them in tryed phone calls and never no answer it was for £80 i called at all diffrent times but never got anywhere , i then found out her mam was in a bad way and was being looked after by my customer so could there be a reason behind it .

how much does she owe. Thomas higgins are great but after seven days they want to know what to do about court action, and for thirty quid or so can you justify the court/solicitor fees. Just put a letter through her door asking her to ring your mobile anytime and hope

I do 2 cleans and if I dont manage to get payment / reason for non-payment they get dropped.  That way the debt does not build up and a chance is given to those who are genuinely busy / forgetful etc.
