Title: which wfp system .....HELP PLEASE?
Post by: stoneleech on April 26, 2008, 12:09:53 pm
Hi,

I've been thinking about starting up wfp window cleaning, I'm looking to start in about 6 weeks time. I've spent many weeks reading through posts on this forum and although I've enjoyed it very much and have found it very useful, i'm as confused as ever.

I live in a slightly hard water area so wll be looking to get RO unit. Originally I was going to plum for a pure freedom system but they have received unfavourable comments here in the past few days ( I know everyone's experience of a company is subjective) which has kind of put me off going to them.

Can anyone recommend me a 600 litre van mounted system that they have used for a long time, trouble free, with low TDS reads please? Ive got a budget of about £4500 for the system and ideally would like it fitted by someone who knows what they are doing, but would not be adverse to fitting it myself if it's not too difficult....not really looking for negative comments about companies, I've read enough of them on this forum already.

Any feedback would be appreciated....

You also could try Ionic or Ominpole, more expensive than the rest but good quality products.

And Glynn at Ominipole is very helpful with before and after customer care.

as a supplier i would say use the best recommended supplier one nearest to  you whether you choose self build or off the shelf one , what you need is the help on hand when first starting out wfp

after that you ll make your own changes

Nearest does not mean nish (sry Sair) if it did I would have used one that I did not have to travel for a few hours too.

Telephones and email make the distance no problem once system is fitted.
I could myself jump on the band waggon saying I am a supplier, I personally like to stick to what I know well and progress from there.

Not at knock to you by the way but go to a supplier that is near is total rubbish and the reason being (the supplier could be totally rubbish) if thats the case there are near but rubbish.

my thoughts are go with a good supplier that is recommended by their customers if you have to travel a little way so be it, remember this system will be the key to making money for you in the future get it wrong and it will cost you a stack load of cash more.

by the way I am meaning any supplier here if they get recommendations (for me freedom ticked every box and they continue to do so)

hi

Andrew mccann ' pure freedom is very helpful as is peter at window tools. I bought a basic system from pure freedom and it has been great, but have to say the ro isn't as good as i thought it would be but i did buy the cheapest set up and am sure andrew would be able to supply a mutts nuts set up for 4k.

If doing it again i would look at different systems and then build my own van mount.  There isn't much to it tank, pump, and pole.  and an ro at home with holding tank and transfer pump.

its realy simple believe me. but you won't go far wrong taking to purefreedom.

If you do decide to go DIY,.. get an engineer to fabricate and fit a cage for the tank that is secured with lots of high tensile bolts through the chassis.
I know the Ionics mag has got everyone going crazy about tank fitting safety, but it is possible to have a safe diy setup if you get someone qualified to handle this part of it. I got it done, and the guy charged me €160 including labour & vat! Money well spent IMO.

Thanks to all who replied, you've been very helpful and i appreciate it. For those who enquired where I'm located, I'm living in Cardiff. Thanks Ian for the phone number, but Bedford is a little out of my way.

go and see the boys down window cleaning warehouse in barry. they do diy and complete systems. worth a trip just to see what its all about. i had a trolley off freedoom. only ever used it for 1 week. wasn't suited to my work. got van mount instead. got all the gear from wcw.

Personally I prefer a static system plumbed into my garage to produce pure water and use it to fill van mounted sytem. I don't know why more don't go for this option (assuming viability), to me it seems more simple and less bits to worry about on van.

Static is best in most ways, but some dont have this option

I Know not all have this option, but many seem to automatically go for RO set-up on van without considering it.

Unfortunately I cant do a static RO at the present, that's something for the future when I'm not living in a rented top floor flat.
