Good link Dave, I too have noticed that posting has become very argumentative of late.
In future when a post is reduced to bickering, I will just let it die an unresponsive death. Dai

I enjoy reading Tennet's and groundhog's posts now that Mr Solubility frequents less. It breaks up the boredom sometimes. Nothing like a good argument to stir the emotions up IMO lol before the MODS start deleting everything.

what i dont get is y w/c argue so much. you dont see chippies or painters giving one another dirty looks do ya? i saw a w/c friday gave him a friendly smile and looked at me like i'd been nobing his mrs!

well i dont think i have anyway.
I am always respectful to my fellow window cleaners when I see them whilst going about my work, although secretly I'm not that happy to see them 'ON MY PATCH' but I am polite and always smile, even if it is through gritted teeth!!! On Friday I was working on one of my larger houses when a My Home Window Cleaning van turned into the driveway, I turned around with pole in hand and gave him a big grin, it was supposed to be a friendly smile! but you could see the panic on his face as he jammed on his brakes and desperately tried to reverse out of the drive only to stall the van! then he had trouble getting it started, and finally managed to reverse it into a leylandi tree as he desperately tried to flee from the obviously scary looking Groundhog!!! ;D ;D The owner of the house then strode up to his van to see what he was doing on his property, to which he mumbled an apology and handed the owner a leaflet, which got immediately ripped up as he was told ' can't you see I already have a window cleaner, now clear off before I call the Police!!' I nearly wet myself laughing!! poor bloke!!! ;D
As for rules on how to behave on an internet forum, well rules were made to be broken in my opinion! and wouldn't it be boring if everyone just conformed, and behaved in a certain way, we are all individuals and therefore conduct ourselves in different ways. Who writes these rules anyway?? As far as I'm concerned there are no rules!! lets have some fun,and long live freedom of speech!! ;D

i use to work for a firm and the other lad used to give other w/c soooo much stick. i used to say to them watch it fellas the way your going you might be asking them for a job at the end of the month!

we get on with everyone in town, plenty of work to go around!

Look, if you want to chat and make conversation, go over to the relevant section of the forum to do so, or stay on topic and discuss forum behaviour if you so wish.
Boorish behaviour puts people off posting for fear of being flamed Hence there are rules in place to try and stop it.
This site is fairly lenient I think, on other sites if you break the rules you are thrown out. period.
Of course you may well break the rules here, but do it too often or get noticed by Admin and you may find yourself booted off the forum.
