I'm in the process of setting up a static system in my van.
But not sure what pump to get.
I work on my own, with soon to be 100mtrs of 6mm Microbore. No flow control, except from the my valve at the pole
Sooooz, do I need 100 or 60 psi pump.
Any brand preference?

Is there a noticeable difference two between the pressure ratings - in terms of water usage?
My trolley pump is 60psi, running it as a static set up at the moment in the van with 60 mtrs of 6mm hose.
The water flow and pressure is about right.
What difference will I notice with 100 psi?

The 100psi Flojet pump will easily give you enough flow rate for a 100m reel of microbore.
A simple way to test if the 60 psi pump would suffice is to buy your 100m of microbore first and try it out on the trolley. If you are happy with the flow rate then you can stick with a 60psi.

why not use two 50mtr hose with connectors so as and when you need the length you got it...
You will lose some pressure on the 100 mtr hose and you will prolong the life of you pump.

Alex, is there any difference between the Flojet's and Shrurflo's Pumps - in terms of flow, reliability, and durability?

I know I'm not Alex but I understand that Shurflow do not guarantee their pumps if used with smaller bore hose but Flojet do. That may speak for itself but it doesn't necessarily mean the Flojet make better pumps. It may just mean they are slower on the uptake.

Either the Shurflo or the Flojet 100psi will do the job. I have always had good reliability from the Flojets though. On average I have had about 3 years out of each pump, (used about 8 of them in our various vehicles, trailers etc). I have also had to replace one pressure switch after about 1 years use on one of the pumps.

I've been using a flojet pump for 2 and a half years with no problems until yesterday when it finally died! :( Luckily I had an old backpack pump which I am using for the time being. I'm not sure if 2.5 years is about the lifespan of a pump? but I suppose its not bad as it got used virtually everyday for a good 8hrs a day!!
Now I need to replace it, but am unsure whether to go for the shurflo which seems to be a bit cheaper or another flojet ???

snap just what happened to me yesterday.
water leaking every were, had the boy at the van with me shouting ON,OFF going like the clappers to get job done....ordered the same pump for £101 + vat 95 psi flowjet..not bad bought it 2nd hand 4 years ago..

Just took the old pump to bits, and replaced a couple of dodgy looking wires, and bingo its going again!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D I'm well chuffed, perhaps I'll get another 6months or even a year out of it yet!!! ;D
