Title: The mother of all rust remover!
Post by: John Milnes on April 23, 2008, 09:14:35 pm
I have always used Prochem Rust Remover which will usually remove most rust stains with repeated applications and rinsing, but find it will not always remove the heaviest stains.

I recently bought a bottle of Craftex Rust Remover and tried it for the first time today on several heavy
crusty rust marks left by furniture. Apllied to each mark with a little agitation .....and GONE!  :o :o :o
before even extracting.
The muts nuts.

I find Chemspec Rust Remover very good.   Have you compared it to the Chemspec one?

Richie.

No Richie. Have only ever used the Prochem one before so can't compare it to others.

I thought it worked unbelievably quickly on very heavy marks.

It has hydrofluoric acid in it!

I think they all are, PC spotting agents don't seem as good as they used to be, Chemspec have some really good products but it depends on the concentrate of the product.

Do a test and dip your fingers of either hand in PC version and Chemspecs version and see which finger nails fall off first :o

the craftex rust remover has a higher acid level and works far better than anything else, but be warned, its naughty stuff, don't get it on your fingers, as it will affect your bones
