Title: Tips on cleaning a glass tower please
Post by: RO-Sheen on April 23, 2008, 05:58:56 pm
A customer in an old folks home has asked me to clean a glass tower which is 3 storeys high with 4 sides of glass. It has a staircase that goes around the outside of it from top to bottom. (This tower is situated in the middle of the building so i cannot use a cherry picker or wfp).

Inside of the tower will also need to be cleaned.

The problem with doing the inside of the tower is is that as it is glass with very little frames there is nowhere to rest a ladder or pointer.
The problem with doing the outside is the same as above and couldnt stand a ladder on a flat safe place due to the stairs.

Please help cos Im going bald with al of this head scratching!! ??? ???

Only thing is a pole with traditional tools or a scaffold tower.

Charge well if you quote for it, I can see it may be a nightmare.

Have you considered the SL2 pole,it`s so light it can be used standing right back from a window at waist height almost.Instead of doing above conservatory roofs at an angle now i sometimes use this pole and clean straight over and above the roof itself.

Sanity and NWH - Its in the middle of a building so I cant wfp.

Paul - Its 3 storey high in the inside and the tower isnt very wide so I wont get the angle to trad pole it.

I can't think of any way to do it other than with a scaffold tower - assuming there is enough room for one.

Something like this might help, they are usually small enough to fit thru a door
