Title: cat scratches on leather
Post by: Mike Halliday on April 23, 2008, 04:34:52 pm
the customer had a throw over the settee so the cat claws only slightly got through, so the scratches are like pin pricks.

there is nothing to prise out and glue only a rough feel to the leather, I was going to just sand it down and let the finish fill the very small holes,

plus how much pigment to cover 3 arms & 3 seats?

thanks

Hi Mike,

Gently sand with 320 grit sand paper to remove the roughness, then sand smooth using something like 1200 grit. Apply a thin coat of light filler, dry, then sand again with 1200.

Mist some colour on with an airbrush and jobs done!  :)

Mike get that palm sander out you chicken  :D

Is that major pile reversal around the base of the sofa and walk way or is it just crushed pile and a flash off the camera making it look very light?

paul I'll be buying a little palm sander this weekend, jobs not for 2 weeks. I'm going to have to take my time I've quoted a high price so will have to take most of the day on it,
