Title: New company name

I am in two minds wether to run the cleaning side of my business under the
Carpets Plus Ltd banner as there is no mention of cleaning in the name.

I have bought Surrey Carpet Cleaning Ltd and have got the domain name surreycarpetcleaning.com for the new website.

Anyone got any opinions one way or another about the proposed new name ?

Sounds a pretty apt name for what you are proposing to use it for, always depending on whether you are operating in or around 'Surrey' ;)

Just be aware thata there is a Surrey Carpet Care (based in Coulsdon) but you should'nt be on each others toes.

As with everything there are pros and cons.

You may tread on other peoples toes, but equally you may build a brand which customers may confuse with other companies who have very similar named websites  ;)

I would promote on line as a Surrey based carpet cleaning company but have a more unique name on the ground.

I think the name Surrey Carpet Cleaning Ltd is a good one... Says it all really - Where you are based and what you do!

Any particular reason for going .com as opposed to .co.uk?

Thanks for the replies guys, common sense as usual.

I must admit I am a bit undecided at the moment.

Barnett carpet cleaning or cleaning services doesn't exactly trip off the tounge, plus there is a town named Barnet, so that could cause confusion.

Was gonna call it Carpet Cleaning Plus but that is Chris Strakers tag line.

And I understand where your coming from Doug regarding the .co.uk domain name you own.

Back to the drawing board methinks.

I think it would be very difficult for any of us to lay claim to a geographical area over the internet, think how many variations there are.

Over the internet its a good idea to have a descriptive name, thats why I went for 1st 4 Carpet Cleaning, it's includes CC and is also a statement.
