Title: unusual tip
Post by: gwrightson on April 22, 2008, 04:05:54 pm
just recieved an email from the manager of a club I cleaned last week, thanking me for the job I had done :D  and that a complmentary pass for the year to his health club was in the post.
Now he was either genuinly pleased  ;D or perhaps he thought I needed to get into shape  :)

well whatever, I shall certainly make the most of it

what unusual tips have you had?

I was offered a season ticket to Stamford Bridge.  Yeah, some tip, would have rather had a fiver.

I donated it to a disabled "club" so that they could take it in turns to go so it didnt get wasted.  That is hoping that someone there would want to go.

So at least it had some use,

Best, Dave.

Think yourself lucky, people up here get season tickets for Sunderland if they do a crap job. As a punishment.

I must have turned the corner now, I must have done some crap jobs last August as my forfeit was to get Bryan Robson but I must be getting better at my job as now we get Blackwell, so if I stop shrinking them we may get 'the chosen one'!

Fair comment but I would rather see Sunderland than Chelsea, I just dont clean for Sunderland so fat chance.

Best, Dave.

Doesnt Steve suggest that Sunderland is the team to watch anyway.

I know this is off subject but at least here we dont have to put up with squeaky.

You don't want to make a mess just after you cleaned it, especially if you left the enzyme prespray at home. ::)

About ten big boxes of books from a nobel prize winning professor i work for,got given £20 to take them to recycle, sat in the house for 3 or 4 days before i looked on amazon to see if they are worth anything..
Imagine my supprise when i find out they are worth upwards of £300 each for some of them  :) .Lot`s of stuff on quantum physics which i am a follower of ,loads of very rare stuff from late 60`s all in pristine condition which makes them worth a lot more..
Set up seller account on Amazon and have been selling them ever since ££££ thanks
I find the americans i have worked for are the best for tips,oh i did rescue a cd mixing console pro one with control unit just needed a £30 part to fix it and a really nice top spec dvd player from outside a rental i cleaned, stuff people throw out eh,had wanted to have a crack at cd mixing for ages love my vinyl but the stuff i have recorded in my studio would have to be pressed onto accetate before i could play it out which is expensive  :)

Pair of guinea pigs last year.

Bag of cucumbers last summer that the lady had grown.

At xmas two years couple had just moved into a a new house and there was a carpet cleaning machine in the shed that I could have as the previous owner had left. Imagine my delight when I found an Extracta DX with loads of kit. £700 on Ebay, I thank you.

Had a client a few years ago whereby I ended up paying him each time I did a job.

The basis was that he paid me in goods that he wanted to get rid of and by netting out the price he was selling for against my price for cleaning I ended up amongst other things with a TV and video; a cycle trainer and a lawn mower!
