if i run the machine at 400psi max....slight drop in pressure(hardly noticable)

spoke to ashbys .........told me wand was problem...unable to cope with increase of pressure......sold me new wand!(ok not complaining its a nice 2 jet wand which i got a discount on :)) which i sorely needed.......and it is an improvement on the last wand...... :)

The pressure difference between valve open and valve closed can vary significantly on portables. It's a balance between psi and flow rates. The higher the pumps flow rates, the more it is able to maintain the set psi.  This is where T/M's outperform portys.

With valve open, a small, 01 upholstery jet will still allow a lot of back pressure and give you a higher guage reading than, say, 06 of jetting on a wand.

As long as the clean is performed satisfactorally, and the 01 gives better readings than the wand, then there should be little/nothing to worry about.

My guage will go down to about 170ish valve open on a 300psi setting, depending on jetting.

Safe and happy flow rates :)

what pump is it ( Pumptec?) go to their website and check the flow rate then check to see if the pump is running at the optimum performance
