Hi
I know its that question again.
My ro unit only brings the tds down to 37. The tap water is between 340 and 380. at this rate i will use far too much resin to bring it down to 000 tds. Andrew at pure freedom( who sold the unit to me) sujests i should put a booster pump on the front to increase the psi but i cant see how this will help. I was expexting the tds to be closer to singlefigures and the resin last far longer
The di is a 700ml unit
Can anyone help.
The ro has only been running since march 1st and used an average of 200 litres aday. but from now on it will need to produce double that too keep up with the window cleaning, i seem to be changing the resin every 500 litres.
All membraines read tds of 37
any help will be much appreciated
Cheers

hi peter
i was hoping to hear from you,
would you pop new pre filters in then? or buy good quality membraines? I have only been running the system 1 month and while im happy with results i am just questioning the fact that a pump would make the ro any better in regards of a lower tds from ro.
would you not agree the tds should read alot lower than 31 to 37 before the di?
cheers

I wouldn't bother with the new prefilters, and I would agree that the reading should be quite a bit lower. I also agree that the booster pump would make a difference, but it shouldn't be necessary to lower readings, and more for producing more water. I don't know if different membranes would be any better, it could be caused by something else, and I am not familiar with that particular system.
I do know with the system I supply the reading would be in single figures even with a low water pressure, and without a booster pump. I don't really know what else to say.

hi,,,yes he is i think correct regarding the booster pump, i purchaced my 300 system from ro man and found that the tds was not getting down below 10-12 even after the di,so was told to fit a booster pump,,,this increased the pressure through the filters and membrain, and did bring my tds to 0..it did take the pressure up to 70-85 and i was worried it would blow a pipe,,,but so far 12monts down the line all o.k...i,m filling my tank [ 1000ltr] in about 15 hrs changed my pre filters once and my di twice..give us a call if you need to know anymore,,but it is a big learning curve.....kev 07940 705738

A few things.
Pre filters in good condition, they are cheap so change them every few months.
Booster pump does make the RO work better.
Quality membranes needed. I put cheaper membranes in once and the tds soon increased. Reverted back to proper ones and all is working rightagain.
Flush valve. Use it after each production run.

I have no choice than to flush every fill even half fill tds goes to over 900
membrane is 7 months old perfilters changed every month.
something cant be right or I am lost
