Are they for the Eclipse Steve? I too could do with some as the eclipse hoses are quite a bit longer than standard prochem hoses.

Steve,

It is a shame that you have fallen out with Ashbys, as their large hose bag holds 75' of vac + 75' of solution hose.

It is the most durable bag I have owned and the price is right.

Steve, JB is right about the Ashbys hose bag, for value, size and durability.
Even they can't muck that up  :o

So I'm going to have to eat humble pie and get them from Ashbys ::) after I said I would never use them again.

Extracta sell a good one but only holds about 35ft.

John

Ive got a Ashbys bag (the large one) and would not get 75ft in it.  Will get 50ft and two hands tools and will just about zip it shut.  Have they got a extra large bag that I dont know about?

I do quite a lot of match fishing, try going to your local fishing tackle dealer and having a look at their net bags or carry alls they are more than ample for hoses and a lot stronger also they dont leak and you can also get a lot of other items in the bags other than just hases

Dave,

AFAIK They only do two sizes - you must have the smaller one.

Steve

The large Ashby’s bags will hold the 50ft 2” vac & solution hose from my TM, have had them for over 3 years not a rip in sight

Also today I pop into Ashby’s and brought two of the smaller hose bags for my Ninja hoses and they fit.

There is a knack in winding them up to fit.

John,

If you carry 200+ ft. of hose, it gets into a mess with just straps and takes up a lot more space when not controlled by a bag/bags.

I just got some hose straps for my hoses, only going to use it on a 2 in/ 50 ft section of hose  to carry in to the house and pull the rest off the reel. seems like it might be a little less dragging around the cornors and a little faster.

Are you talking about port hoses 1,5 in/ 50 ft sections of hose it, seems like it would work good for that. it would be lighter and easer. than  winding it up and getting into the bag.

The hose straps have handle on them so you could carry them or hang them in the truck. They are made out of nylon and velcro and are a lot cheaper... 3 straps for twenty

John,

I refer to 1.5" hose in 25' sections.

Space in my van is at a premium, and the floor-space is being constantly re-arraged to accomodate different equipment to suit the requirements of the work being undertaken. A hose reel is out of the question since it would need to be bolted down in a fixed location.

The sides and bulkhead are taken up with shelving etc., so there is no spare hanging space. Even the four wands are located near the roof.

By having the hoses controlled within a bag, they take up far less space than in separate bundles, and can even be placed in the passenger footwell if required to free up additional loadspace.

Hi Dave,

That little dolly is a godsend  :D

For single-handed moving of large, heavy pieces of furniture, it can be placed under one end and it's like having an assistant to help.

Sometimes I place it in the middle of smaller pieces. Unlike Gliders, it does not stress the carpet, causing wrinkles and with the three large casters it moves very easily.

Consisting of one piece of 7-ply, the three casters and three rubber grip-blocks for the top it is not expensive to make.

Stu,

I take it you're not a member of another forum then, or you could have used the link:
 http://www.another forum.co.uk/?board=cc_issues;action=display;num=1102270554
and read the whole story.

Briefly, then, the material I used id the insulated underlay designed for use under laminate flooring.

Steve, Late news on the hose bag front.
Barton Electrical, at Molesey in Surrey, have some new bags coming over from China.
They are specifically made for 50ft hoses , reinforced handles, ripstop nylon and velcro fastened.....no zips to break.

I have now found hose bags which hold 50ft of hose plus hand tools no problem available from the Solution man ::)

I visited a Caravan show in lincon last year and bought some very large bags of one of the stalls which were ment to hold items like generators ect. I was able to fit a 25ft hose inside one with no problem. They are water proof and machine washable and very hard wearing and belive or not only cost me a fiver each. Look in any caravan mag and you are bound to find the adverts for them plus, you can get them made to any size at the fraction of the cost of purpose made bags
