...and for the bargain price of £159.00 + VAT per month (2 year contract, 10,000k mileage per year) from www.freedomcommercials.com
-
Sounds good, i am looking at getting a used one to start with, can get one with less than 60k, 4-5 years old for £3,500

They are fantastic vans, I am going to be selling our 55 plated transporter van in the next couple of weeks because of our truckmount that is already in a Mercedes Sprinter.
VW = top notch.

Glad to hear it is all positive so far!

Great vans, solid build, good performance, I've got auto transmission and electric windows.
-
great vans but can be heavy on fuel when your flat out but there all like that that !
only thing wrong with them is the mass airflow meters are not the best and if you drop an injeckter you need to replace all of them apart from that there great
how ever most of you wont see these problems as you dont do alot of miles
-
I had one for a week last week but did find it used a lot fuel
But the I went up and down the Country twice
Great excelleration compared to my Expert
£159 a month good price I was offered one at £200 a month but it is never yours
Also is there any clause regarding dents at end of Lease
What happens if you go over 10k
-
I've had a T5 130hp 5 cylinder for 2 + yrs now , great van. Averages out 30 mpg doting round ,better on longer runs obviously. Costs nearly £90 to fill nowadays and you get 500 miles in return.

Thats a good point about the dents Ian, I shall look in to that when i sign the contract!

u better as you may have to dig deep and i mean deep ! when takeing it back

Had a Berlingo on lease. The 'dents' part of the contract is very detailed. Despite being careful, it is hard to keep a works vehicle in pristine condition. Eventually sold it to the original dealer just to avoid the risk of hefty charges.
I've heard conflicting reports. Some say that leasing companies charged them for everything. Some say that they turn a blind eye to most minor damage. But the contract is very precise.
For that reason I would buy old and respray thus more sleep at night.

John,
Just had a look at this site and you can get it on a 4 year deal as well, this may be the better option especially if you are going to get it sign wrapped.

What's important to you about having a shiny brand new van as opposed to one 2-3 years old, is it a new model?
-
Cheers Ian
Well the deal is done now and I have it for 2 years so ill see how it goes. Ill be paying about 50 a week for it which isnt too bad and I may reevaluate the situation in 24 months time and purchase a vehicle

Hi Mike
Just fancied a new vehicle for a while. Simple as that really

I'm sure you will enjoy it. :)

Well to be honest Mike Im going to give this business 2 more years and see how it goes. After 2 years I will look at my sales and carry on if it looks healthy or look for something else to get in to.
Im about to purchase a prowler so hopefully will make life a little easier not to mention quicker over my Excel
Ive also invested in some driveway/patio/decking cleaning equipment which I am hoping will add another service to my portfolio. Good time to get in to that side as well with the 'summer' coming
Well just have to see how it goes really

Ew yes the new Prowler, very nice bit of kit.
Bound to make life easier and save time compared to your Excel. I started saving after CCDO.

John, I saw your post a few weeks ago regarding the VW Transporter and having looked into one I have just ordered one. at £159 plus vat you cant realy go wrong! thats less than £4 grand over two years and they pay for maintenance and road tax, if I bought a new transporter I would loose more than that in depretiation over two years

Yes but at the end of the day its yours. I have a mate who fits oil tanks and does boiler servicing, he use to lease all his vehicles but now he says its better to buy, as the try a knock you for every little scratch and mark when you give it back...its a nightmare he said.

They are very reliable so a used one is a good idea ;D
