http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-PROFESSIONAL-INDUSTRIAL-CARPET-DRYER-BLOWER-CLEANER_W0QQitemZ110242761303QQihZ001QQcategoryZ43015QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

These look good value, may get a discount on 2 or more although at that price they are good price anyway.

As with any equipment, you get what you pay for. Some of the cheaper ones have inferior motors. May still work out cheaper but expect to replace them more often. Drieaz are probably the best make.

Cheers for the link Shaun, i went over to bury today and collected a couple, using  now to dry a 100% wool rug. well worth £100 imo.
Like John says tho suppose time will tell as to say how good they really are, i will only really be using on rugs that i clean in my garage, not day in day out, so hope they will last.

The one I got from Ashby's, which wasn't cheap, is 1.5hp and I've noticed most snails are usually only 1hp.

I don't have a problem with Ashbys but everything I have bought from them has broken within no time, perhaps I'm too heavy handed!

Saying that Ashbys have some very innovative products.

If you ever have a trashed carpet and want to see miricles happen.

I bought two 5kg tubs of their solution tank powder I think it's about ph 12 with just two scoops. I've hardly made a dent in the first tub.

Stopped using it when I went over to m/s

I have 2 drieze turbos and 2 brought electrical turbos and the DE's ones are alot heavier and they seem to dry marginly faster but I think I may get the Ashby's ones just because they are 1.5 hp and they should in theory get the carpet drier.

Shaun

PS John Kelly is my sprayer ready?

Just got one of these ebay blowers. Definately inferior to Ashby's offering, the lead is only 3ft long for starters. The Ashby one isn't stackable though.

Having said that for a ton you can't complain and I needed more for rugs rather than one mega powerful one.

Also bear in mind the ashby design doesn't lend itself to working in tilted and facing up position like most other snail designs.

The downdraft air movers are more expensive but worth the extra investment.

I'd rather not go into the details. The seller has been very quick to respond so I'm giving him benefit of the doubt. But bloody glad I didn't take it on a job today.

I had problems with mine leading to the electrical contacts smoking within 10 seconds of starting up. Seller rang me up and says he sells loads with no problems. Offered full refund and pickup.

I would like to think it is just my bad luck on this occasion.

Having said all that with hindsight for the sake of another £50 I would go for a decent make. The lead is very short, the telescopic handle extends to below midget reach and is flimsy and the who thing a bit cheapo.
