Title: What hose and how long from reel to van.
Post by: [GQC] Tim on April 14, 2008, 04:09:04 pm
Just wondering what hose you use from the reel to the van, I've been looking at some hoselock stuff here, tough wearing, thought it would be ok?

http://www.hozelock.com/watering/hoses/ultra-tough.html

Also, what would be the ideal length? I will have my fill port at the tow eye, so to place it at both side of my Citroen Berlingo would be around 4 meter. Is that a common length? I guess it all depends on what gives you the most flexibility?

Mines clear hose about 3foot but thinking of getting longer with these as connectors.

There really good so bought quite a few and replaced ones on system with these.

I use standard clear hose pipe for mine, I have out siode fill ports, 4 meters IMO would be a pain, 2.5 meters would be ideal.

if you use clear go for clear braided hose, because it wont form into a water ballon when you turn your valve off while working and the varistream isnt set right pumping away, then leak at the reel, then explode water all over your van.

Isn't clear a bit of a 'potential' trip hazard, even though it's only like 3 meter?

I always put mine under the van, if some one can go that low and trip they should not be able to go out alone
