Title: Your reply would be...
Post by: cbcs on April 12, 2008, 06:43:30 pm

Are you guys prepared to accept a fairly sparse domestic cleaning requirement?
It's a 3bed semi with a conservatory, we'd be looking for the windows cleaned say quarterly?

Let me know if this is do-able from your perspective & we can agreed a cost.

If I was to price it at £10 on a monthly basis, what would you charge for quarterly?

Would you then give them the monthly cost after quoting what they asked for?

I normally do monthly or every two months. But I will do one-offs.

A request as you mention would go thus:-

(A 3 bed non bay semi with con should be about £15 monthly in my opinion)

But going by your rates:-

Monthly £10
2-monthly £13.00
3-monthly £20.00
One off lightly soiled £25
One off mucky £30

I would only do 6 weekly for a job that size myself.  I would do a one off but only if convenient ad it would be priced much higher.  Currently, I will only do 12 weekly for jobs of £50+ .  I do have some 12 weekly jobs for less than that, but I already had them before I decided on the £50 minimum.  Therefore, I continue to honour the deals.

With George you just set the frequency to 12 weeks and do them whenever the system tells you they are due, no problem.

I have more and more customers on 3 or even 6 month intervals and i think its great business.

(1) You charge a bit more, but not a silly price.

(2) Its all money, and thats why I go out to work.

(3) They are not fussy when you go so you can use them to fill in.

(4) The customer gets what they want so they are happy with you. They probably wouldn't have the money for a regular clean so what they pay you is a bonus.

Its not like the old days when window cleaners had a book and had to stick to it or they would get in a mess.

Today you just print off a work sheet and go do whats on it. Frequency is not an issue.

Frequency is not an issue.

It isn't, if you price it well.  I personally won't do longer than 3 monthly, 'cos you can't build a rapport with the customer at all if the frequency is any bigger than that.

And the few 3 monthly jobs I've got, I've priced them VERY well.

Nothing under £50 quarterly, as it's too much hassle.

It's alright Rog, Tennet had the decimal point in the wrong place, he meant £16.00 plus vat, cuz he loves doing council houses!  ;D
