just cleaned a job where they want it cleaned every 2 months no problems, but today i see they have painted the house and not botherd to protect the window so little spots of paint all over and they have just painted the frames any old how.
Now would you clean up there lazyness or do what iv done and think and just clean over the top of it.
I know its a bad thing to say but i dont care if they drop me as when i ring to say i will be round tomorrow he is so rude all the time.
how would you deal with it?
cheers joe

tell them you have noticed the decorators have done a good job but there is paint spots and runs on the glass ask if the decorator is coming back to sort it out or would he like you to give him a quote ;D ;D ;D ;)

I agree with stephen.b1 :)

I agree with stephen.b1 :)
Yep!

thanks guys but i know he has done the job himself as iv passed him up the ladder, and its not a good job he's done.
Looks to me like the wife has been on at him to get it done and he went at it with a yard broom.
well just have to see if he says anything.
cheers joe

i would check for any scratches before i cleaned them again, doesnt sound as though he was too carefull, and you dont want the blame for anything he might have done
-
I would charge him for a builders clean in order to remove the paint etc,if it was a good paying customer of mine i would do it for a small extra charge but by the sound of him you aint got the job long anyway Joe so bump up the price to get it back to the usual state.Tell him before you do it aswell cos by the sound of it he won`t pay the extra unless you tell him first.

Don't do it for nothing if there is loads of paint on glass. If its only a little paint and its a two minute job do it for nothing but mention it, as it seems customer relations need mending..

do favours for good customers. Make sure you charge the rude customers. But rude or not it is courtesy to mention it 1st and agree a price.
-
do favours for customers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i posted on ere last week bout an old dear being charged 1.50 for putting a bin out
iand i got a vollying................. and the guy had a pot of tay and a pkt of bickies....
-
thats classed as a builders clean and charged @ £50 an hour
-
£50 a hour for a builders clean.
They pay well but if i charged that much i would be told were to go.

£50ph is the right money as it can be a pig of a job. I avoid them like the plague!

Peeke (Joe),
It's a pain when this happens, but it does happen.
If you're hard-nosed, charge triple (at least) and clean all the paint off in one go.
If you're not tough enough (like me), explain to the customer that to remove all that paint from the windows isn't in the price that you quoted.
However, you'll remove the paint from one window per visit; (and start with the prominent windows like the kitchen or living room).
If you don't use ladders, just remove it from the ground floor.

Hi Joe,
Was that your van I saw at Solarglas a couple of days ago?
Nice signage ;)
Cheers,
Ian

Joe, Forget the details. If the customer is rude, ditch them. If you don't. you'll always be on a loser.

I would clean over the top of it. If they said anything I would reply your painter should have covered the windows, I can do remove the painters mess but I will have to charge for it. I would also add I would bill the painter for this to be honest
They then have a choice.
A little rudeness if they pay well I can take I am not there to be liked or for me to like them as long as the money is good then it is good for business. If the money is bad I would up it and if they canceled I would not bat an eyelid
-
i went to a place a while ago and the painter looked as if hed painted the windows ::)
she mentioned it to me, i said look thats the painters job to remove them not mine, if i had done the job i wouldnt of left them that state, and they were bad, and just said, yeh ill do it but itl cost you more
-
Say to him, "what idiot done the painting? There's more on the glass then anywhere else".
Then mention WFP de-ionised water WON'T remove the paint. If he wants the paint removed it will cost £xxxxxxxx more, much more.
Tell him ,he should have got a professional painter in who knows how to paint.
-
Clean as normal, charge as normal.
If they bring it up just say - "I believe that's the painter's responsibility, not mine."
They will either accept it or get funny - if the latter, walk away.

agree 100% paint is for buildcleans
-
your job is to clean the windows ...not clean up after the painter....
if hes rude....ditch him ...or up your monthly price , so that he has the embarrasment of cancelling due to not being prepared to pay :P
