Me too  ;D

NO VAT on your bill so you can claim all costs.  ;)

I can vouch for Doug as I have had some delivered last week. Cant tell you about performance as hopefully that is some months off but ease of transaction and delivery time was first class.

I still dont fully understand why the no vat means you claim it off costs ?

Wether vat is payable or not  it is still tax deductable.

The only difference is if you are vat registered you claim the vat back and the net is tax deductable.

Dave,

I'm not vat registered, originally was but de-registerd after speaking to the Tax man. Hence the price of £68 + delivery is the full price on the Invoice which you can claim, whereas if you buy from some suppliers the price includes vat. Hence you will only be able to claim around £59 as you cannot claim the the vat unless you are tax registered.

Hope that explains it

Doug

Hi Doug,

If I buy a product for my window cleaning firm (not VAT registered) and it is £100 + VAT I can claim the full £117.50 as a tax deductible expense. Not as good as if I can get back the £17.50 from the VAT man and then claim £100 as a tax deductible, but it is still a deductible in full.

At £68.00 this is £3.00 more than we charge, of course ours has VAT on top but thats because we have to be registered for VAT.
As Alex said its deductable as a business expense.

Hi Alex,

Not what the tax advisor advised me, otherwise I have changed 5 yrs of accounts for nothing. Also have received this info from an accountant. If you are not vat registered you cannot claim the vat otherwise I would go and buy a brand new van and claim the vat back!!!

Hence with the resin that I have bought the vat I cannot claim back, it is on the document they sent me. Originally I did but when I de-registered there is a note on their forms if you still claim the vat they will ask for it back.

Glyn,

If you can find any document on line which states I can claim vat them i'm off to the tax advisor for a refund.

Thanks

Doug

WINTECS  69+ vat free delivery & it's DOWEX not rubbish purolite :D

Doug, i think there is a mix up between claiming vat back & vat being tax deductable to non vat registered traders.

If you are not vat registered then as Alex said, say a bag of resin costs £100 + vat = £117.50 all in,  you can offset  the full £117.50 back against your income tax.

If you were vat registered then firstly you  claim back the £17.50 from the vat man then offset £100 against your income tax.

Being vat registered in this case would be more advantageous.

If you bought resin free of vat for £100 then both the vat registered and the none vat registered would both just offset the £100 against income tax.

It would be more advantageous for the vat registered to buy at say £90 + vat, so he could claim say £15 vat back then offset £90 against tax than buying At £100 without vat.

Hope this makes sense
