Title: Mentor Wanted
Post by: deborah waters on April 07, 2008, 11:11:18 am
Hi
I'm looking to expand from 'mom and pop' cleaning comp to commercial office and builders cleans. Remembering how many very hard lesons I learned starting out I'm hoping to find someone who can give me advice on common pitfalls and possibly let me shadow them for a couple of days as I have found one of the best ways of learning is watching someone 'do'.
I'm willing to travel as I'm assuming it would not be best to ask someone in my area (Glasgow) with whom I may end up competing. :)
Hoping someone can help,
Warm regards,
Deborah.

hi there

commercial office and build cleaners, are two very differing sectors, with few similarities.

i would consider one or the other.

regards

Would also agree with the above.  Perhaps get one established before looking into the next.

Probably office contract cleaning rather than  builders initial as i'm told it can be famine or feast with builders cleans

Hey don't discount yourself for distance, like i said i'm willing to travel and couchsurf with friends or hole up in a travelodge for a day or two!
One day with 'someone who does' is worth a week of seminars and 'training' ;D
Regards,
Debbie.

Deborah,

Right attitude, there's not a lot of difference between the two, our girls and lads who do office cleaning also double up on builders cleans as well as domestic cleans and end of tenancy.

At the end of the day it's cleaning, not rocket science!  If you have confidence in what you do now you should have no problem in giving a satisfactory service to commercial and builders.

Ask them what they want and deliver on it.

I have a standard specification for build cleans of what cleaning is involved, send me your email and I'll return a copy to you.

Ian

Ian,
Would love a copy as well if you have it. Im looking at expanding into the office clean and building clean stuff.
May be worth meeting up and putting our heads together if you fancy.

Think we already have more than enough people in this country with that intention.
