Title: Filltration soiling
Post by: Michel Roberts on December 22, 2004, 12:33:46 pm
Just a quick one re fillation soiling with a
slight difference

I have a job to do tommorow with bad filtration soiling I am not cleaning the whole carpet just the marks.

I will lifting up the carpet laying cedar paper fixing holes ect and relaying carpet.

What I was wondering was what difference if any does the fact that The carpet will be taken up make to the preffered cleaning meathod. Is there anything extra that you would do whilst it is up.

Will either use solutions or ultrapac renovate and fiber shampoo

Michel,

Since the carpet is being uplifted, any filtration marks resulting from nail holes etc can be treated on the back in the first instance.

I would also treat the edge-marks by placing the carpet on a plastic sheet prior to re-laying as this affords easier access for both agitation and cleaning..

For many years Ultrapac Renovate was my treatment of choice for draught marks, but I now find Eco Spotter not only more effective but does not require the 5-10 minutes dwell time.

PS. Mixing Ultrapac with any other chemical can greatly reduce its' efficiency by limiting the cationic effect.

Is this the same thing as black line? You see it at the edge of the walls. I did a house with white carpet and it was bad. use a chem called black line removal, it worked great.
