Title: Permanent Ink Marker
Post by: turneylogan on April 02, 2008, 08:15:16 am
Tried everything in my Prochem stain kit to remove a black permanent ink marker from polyprop, but to no avail. Is there anything else that will work or is it permanent? I ask this as I noticed on the Chemdry video that they had solution???

Turney, permanent means permanent so it is quite hard to remove, however poly prop so you may be able to reduce it down enough so its not too nocticable, after cleaning the area to remove all residue I would try the following

Clean the area with Prochem fab restorer some inks/dyes usually respond to that, rinse out then try indirectly , either Solutions eco spotter, Prochem solvex, Chemspec ink remover or pog.

If they all fail try acetone again indirectly. Dont forget to give these chems a little dwell time.
If you still have a stain then give up. Also dont forget to rinse out the carpet after each application.
