All vehicles of all makes have problems.

It's an excellent van and you won't regret it.
Easily the best drive. ;)

just spent £1400.00 on a new gearbox, done 60,000 miles common problem apparently but as squeaky said best drive for a van just watch the gearbox , i heard the engine and gearbox are out of a renault megane therefore not man enough to pull a van loaded up but i experience no probs with power it feels up to the job but you never know what damage you are doing till its broke, worth the risk!

Nope, it's a totally new engine built for the van.

Loaded up I can still blow away most cars.
More power than you need. :P

Early Vivaro/Trafic/Primastar variants all suffered from gearbox problems.

Vans built after 2005 use a Nissan gearbox, which is trouble free - I can say that with confidence as we have 3 of them.

And, all Nissan/Vauxhall/Renault versions are actually built on the same production line at Vauxhalls plant, the brand name/varients, etc are added during build.

I hope that helps. Basically, beware of old vans... :'(

This info sounds familiar.  Are you Doug or the other guy (can't recall name) who used to run a vehicle sales business or similar?

What model Squeaky?
2.0 115hp. 6-speed.
214 lb/ft torque! :o
30-50 takes no longer than some of my fast petrol cars in the past.

Alright, maybe not "blow away" most cars, but enough to get people off your tail or give them a fright off the lights. ;D

One with a piddly engine I'd guess.

Don't one of the French horrors do a 1.3D?

You`d be surprised by thinking that the smaller vans are better on diesel-petrol,if you have a small under powered van you have to thrash it to get it to move when filled with water therefore more fuel wasted.Bigger vans handle weight far better and like squeaky said before in other posts you hardly know you have any weight in the back.

That's spot on actually.

My missus had a 2.0 Scenic which did 32mpg.
She's got the new shape now with a 1.4 to save money...wrong! It does 34mpg. ;D

For that amount you`d have been better off putting a good deposit down and buying one,i do like the trafic as you know but the resale value is a joke compared to a transporter.I went to renault the other day to buy a trafic and it was laughable how much he offered me for my van,he wanted my van and 10k for an outright purchase. The outright purchase price is far better than finance or lease,i know the transporters are expensive but at least after a few years it still worth money unlike the trafics-vivaros,same old story with dealers there new vans are fabulous but your van is worth nothing,he offered me 5k for my van that only has 24000 miles on the clock and is in really good condition,by offering me that piddly amount he done himself out of a sale.
