Title: Hot Water Minibore Hose
Post by: Alex Gardiner on March 31, 2008, 08:10:30 pm
Many on this forum had expressed an interest in the production of a Minibore hose specifically designed for Hot Water WFP systems. I apologise for the delay in getting back to everyone, but this has proved quite difficult to get finalised. If you would like more information, you can email me personally on alex@agardiner.co.uk

why is the hose limited edition alex ?

Because we are having a limited quantity (3000 metres) made up to start up with to test market viability, we are giving people the opportunity to reserve a reel to ensure they get their product.

Absolutely, but it is  a very expensive way of having cold water hose (four times the price!).

People, if you wish to reserve goods from Alex or other suppliers, please don't use the forum to do so, contact them directly through their own websites or by telephoning them.
Else Admin (not the mods) are likely to get involved.

Thanks Ian,

I will try and behave myself!

Nathanael,

I have often toyed with the idea of setting up a forum, but to be honest I wouldn't want the hassle and I enjoy the Clean It Up Forum too much as it has a good spread of personalities and excellent content. I also think that it is better to have a fewer well supported forums than many, many forums with much smaller support. Having said that I do still post regularly on at least 5 forums. For the moment I am happy to enjoy this Forum and contribute where I can.

Ian,
I accept that you are talking straight and honestly but think you have misunderstood the situation. Yes de facto Alex is flogging stuff and we are replying, but beyond that.....

Alex has taken a leap in the dark with this product on behalf fo forum members who debated here and said there was a need and a demand for heat resistant hose that at that time and to the best of our knowledge either did not exist or was not easily avialable.

Advances in WFP pole technology come only incrementaly, and as small advances go, this is quite a good one. Well done Alex, and well done the forum for collectively pushing forward our industry.

If I may re-direct this thread slightly (as a cold water system user), what is the problem with using ordinary microbore for hot water?  Is it not up to the job?  If not, what is (are) the problem(s)?

If I may re-direct this thread slightly (as a cold water system user), what is the problem with using ordinary microbore for hot water?  Is it not up to the job?  If not, what is (are) the problem(s)?

Various users of hot water systems were finding that ordinary minibore/microbore was going too soft when used with hot water systems.  Also, the water was losing a lot of heat as it travelled along the length.  This new product hopes to combat both of these points but still within convenient minibore format rather than the traditional half inch size that most other hot hose has been provided in.
