Title: Brodex
Post by: Bonkors on March 31, 2008, 11:53:04 am
Any of you guys use Brodex WFP? They were at Windex. If you did use them, what is there after sales like? What about value for money for tanks and poles? How reliable did you find them. They claim to be one of the largest suppliers of WFP so how many of you use them? Would you recommend them to others, if so why, if not why not?

I have two Predator poles, and one Prolong.  The Predators are a cheap and cheerful glass pole which is as good as any, and cheaper than most.  As with all glass poles, if you use them every day they wear out.  My 18ft lasted about 9 months which I thought was pretty good.

I now use the 18ft Prolong, bought in August last year, used every day for everything (ground and 1st floor) and so far showing no signs of wear at all :)

I can't speak about their systems as I have a self-build static.

after sales very good, about a month a go i took 4 of there  poles there to be repaired and they didnt charge me a penny, although the poles are only 13 months and some would say they shouldn need too be repaired after only 13 months but my lads dont look after anythin :-\, but i thought it was good of them to do it for free. Ive also got a couple there systems and they a very good systems and the red tanks look good in my red vans :P.

we have a cheap crappy predator but i have to say its lasted twice as long as the Ionic poles
in fact its on its second year now and used every day 7 till 4
THE SECRET IS TO WIPE IT OVER ONCE A WEEK WITH A SILICON SPRAY AND IT WILL LAST FOR AGES
we use it on all our poles it makes them look like new again and they slide better than new !! ;) ;)Edd
We also find Brodex very helpfull and not full of crap like some?? ???

What product is that exactly that you use on your poles?

They phone me every month as well, but only to try and sell me stuff!!! They are not interested that my 18' predator is now only 12' because it keeps breaking! or the fact that my other 36' brodex pole is only 30' because it has a broken section even though I only use it about once a month and have had it about 6 months or so!! Sorry but my experience of Brodex has not been good!  >:(

Same as Ian although I use the 30ft prolong. Also have a few 24ft predators. Never had any abnormal problems with them.
One of them started life as a24 foot 4 years ago, after several cuts it is now a 6 ft pole for ground windows.
Phoncalls aren't pushie at all, and you can shorten or drag out the conversation as you feel fit.

There sales people ring me every month too, and every month I ask them to send me a brochure and details of their latest offer, to date they have still failed to send the brochure - puts me off buying from them.

I thought the predator pole was only brought out a year or so ago!! So I don't know how you have one that is 4 years old!!!  ???

Bought my system and Poles from them approx 4 years ago. Recall being in the brown sticky stuff one B/Holiday weekend and they pulled out all the stops to help.

The only issue i have with them are Postal charges, but as they claim, it isn't there charge, but maybe a shop about for a cheaper alternative could be a idea!

Have only ever used their poles, so don't think i'm in a position to comment against others, but like anything, If YOU look after them, they will look after you.

Rob.

Got a call from these today after seeing them at the show and them writing dow my web address on my top.

Call said "Ian you interested in the 250l set up"
Me "why would I want a 250l set up ?"

I got coughs and splutters

Cant blame them for trying at all, the sales men are quite good but they under estimated what I would need and gave me a bad impression overall.

So Brodex if your reading this, find out details before trying to sell, the key to selling is listening to your customer, this works I used to do it for a living  ;)

Must admit guys. I've bought my kit from clean tech in the past and I phoned up a few weeks ago to order a system and I'm still waiting for the guy to phone me back! Anyone think he will phone? A friend of mine bought a system from Brodex in a trailer and I pinch it from him if I have a big job on and it works great. So far I've used 2 ionics systems and 2 Brodex systems and I'd say that the Brodex systems are more user friendly. Plus every time my mate has a problem with his system or poles he gives them a ring and they bend over backwards to help him.....HANG ON IS THAT THE PHONE!?!..oh no its not, still waiting! :P

I am waiting for them to ring me, everytime i ring them, their sales people aint in. I'm ringing them rather that wait for them to ring me. Just had a few questions. I am thinking if they arent at the end of the phone, do they REALLY care? Makes me wonder what their after sales is like. You'd assume salesman will want to get back to you ASAP. Still no phone call and waiting.

I wouldn't mind but I wanted to order a van mount system. I would have ordered it online but I wanted a little bit of a variation to the offer they had, because I had part of the kit with it I wanted a few other bits instead or a bit of a discount. Funny thing is I bet if anyone on here got a phone call from a customer that was ready to spend thousands I'm sure we would all phone them back in no time.

I've not done much business with them but they seem OK.  I bought a couple of metal hosereels from them when I first went for WFP.  Only one came with a handle but the error was quickly rectified after phoning them.
They used to phone me up every few weeks as well.  It always seemed to be at an awkward moment but I don't expect them to be psychic.  One day I asked if I could be removed from their telesales list but only send me advertising material by mail.  They've never phoned me since and send me the occasional mailshot.  So I suppose that if you don't want them to phone you, just ask them not to.  Pretty radical really  ;D  .
I would have no problem doing business with them again.  I find it more convenient dealing with companies more local to me though as I live in a flat with a timelocked front door.  This makes it awkward to receive deliveries when I'm out so I prefer to collect goods in person.  Sussex to Lancashire is a bit far for that.

I have two predator poles. They have both lasted over a year but I prefer the 18' extender pole to the predators. In winter the predators are a lot clolder to the touch then an extender pole. Only matters if you dont wear gloves.

The extender is slightly longer and lighter then a predator pole, The extender is a narrower pole, so its more comftable to use over a days use as it gives you less hand strain.

I dont use the vikan brush. I use both poles with a slamon brush wich alters the dynamics of the pole greatly with regards flex and arm strain on awkward windows.I take off the vikan brushes and use  them on my mini poles.

The worst thing I can say about the predator pole is that when Brodex put the plastic end adapter into the top of the pole that allowes  the resedential plastic goose neck to screw onto the pole. They cut  the plastic insert down with a stanley knife which narrows the insert that goes inside the pole and then they glue it into place. Over time this works lose and you have to buy a new insert to fit into the end of the pole. The inserts can fit into the end of the pole without haveing to cut and glue them in.You just soak them in boiling water for 5 mins and they will fit in.

Too right, from their actions, it appears that they dont want sales. weird or what
