Where do you find metal Vikan taper threads?
-
i got mine from a company called cleaning supplies warehouse in peterboro
its closed now but still has a branch in lincoln
all the wfp gear was from a company called anchor pole systems (dont quote me )
the poles were just regular glass fibre universals BUT all had an aluminium end cone threaded for vikans
and the end cone could be bought seperate((about 8 quid)
they must be out there somewhere ;D
-
glue a short piece of unger pole on the end of your pole
then use this

£3.69
a steal

Is it metal? where is the best place to steal it from? I only want it to heat up and melt some new threads in non-vikan brushes perhaps.

i used an old gardeners 18' universal for 6 long months
heavy as hell
now im using skyblue modular much lighter
the aluminium top piece (of the gardeners) fits the "standard" angle adapters which then fits the vikan thread
ask alex he might have them in stock
-
thats on my short pole ;D
out of interest tho i would like to see if anyone can locate the ones i have cos i want some more
simply because i want some spares , and also to use HOT....dirty word :o....when forming new threads on diy brushes as jikwan described in an earlier thread
-
i really must learn to type faster ;D ;D
-
Yes Alex that's what i'm looking for but only for playing about really. I've seen a few brushes that when cut down might be suitable for gutter washing (getting right up behind the gutter.)
I reckon i could poke my SL-X in the fire for a few minutes and use that in a few weeks. :D

All joking apart, the SL-Xs will all come with the above fitting on the end as standard.
