Hi, I have recently bought a new van with an ionics system in it.
There is a filter called a linear filter and says when the substance has turned from blue to brown it is time for a change.
A) What is it called
B) Where can you buy it from and how much
I have another van that we change the resin on but this is a golden colour are they the same.
Sorry for being thick but I do not want to put the wrong substance in there.
Does only ionics sell the stuff?
Thanks Robbie

you have to get it direct from Ionics around about £50 I think

It will be a colour change DI resin inside, but you may find that it is a sealed unit and you need to buy a new one from Ionics. The color change DI resin is more expensive than normal stuff, probably about double. I sell it but I would need to know how much you needed to give you a price.

it's called a "colour change cartridge." And ionics sells them for £32. It is resin to get to 0 ppm. Just like any other but it changes colour when you need a replacement. I had 1 once and i noticed you had to replace the unit and not unscrew the cap and replace only resin.

Yes I can do. I have it in stock, but I would have to get you a price for it tomorrow when I get to work.

What a con they are,if they wanted to they could thread those cartridges but they don`t so you keep on buying em.A sack of resin for 60-£70 would fill those 4-5 times over, you have to pay about £55 + vat + delivery. Some people convert there system so that they use a vessel instead, you would save £££££££££££.

"Blue colour change cartridge." 12"£30.99+ vat & delivery 30"£56.60 vat & delivery
BLUE zero ppm filtration
GREEN 30 ppm filtration

It is mostly sold for convenience.
-
Peter- do you sell it in the cartridge?
Or can I change the cartridge to something else
Thanks Robbie
-
I don't do that particular cartridge, but I do a normal 10" or 20" DI housing and refillable cartridges. You should be able to just change them over quite easily. You could also just use ordinary resin and keep a check on the water with a TDS meter, instead of using the much dearer colour change resin.
