Title: I think I may need a bigger van
Post by: Pj on March 28, 2008, 10:47:25 pm
Any ideas?

I'm getting fatter!
My wife's getting thinner!

But Alex Gardiner has just taken a lot of money off me :o :D
So I'll need to do a lot more work.

I think I'll need to be able to carry a TON at least.

Any practical suggestions?
I'm thinking used vehicle 5K?

Thanks

A ton  :o Try weighwatchers online maybe?
Van wise I'm happy with my lwb VW transporter TDI you should be able to pick a half decent one up at that price.

If its a large van you are wanting then The vw transporter is a good van and they hold their value then you have the vivaro/trafic/primastar relay/boxer/ducato or the Transit Merc vito toyota hiace  or bottom of the barrel an LDV loads to choose from

At the risk of stating the obvious, the bigger the van the more hassle you have trying to park it.

Personally I love the new SWB transits,...But if you want something a couple of years old then Renault Masters are very nice to drive.

for 5k ex bt transit!! heaters in the back you can switch on an hour before you get in  in on cold mornings, also defrosts your pipes, also has a warm water and basin in the back to keep your hands clean throughout the day, has a lockable box in the front, ideal for keeping cash and/or belongings in, comes with a roofrack and flashing beacon which comes in handy when parked akwardly or on commercial jobs, also comes with a dual battery which you can hook your pump straight off, no need for the split charge relay. all maintained to the highest standard, all have full service history, and for 5 k you could pick up a minter!!!

i also have a vivaro but i think the bt transit is set up a lot better for our job ;) the only down side is the transit is not as quick as most. but a very reliable
