shocks me why people try and go cheap on the things that make them money,
right just to get this clear I am not knocking any of these things posted, just making a point on ££ ok here I go bee in bonnet.
£10 a go may last ( I dont know)
£25 a go will last (if you look at it's wires build for job and more)
I dont have either and have three batteries which I charge every other day (mad I know and I am looking at this more and more, but would still carry extra battery just in case as it would cost to much to die for a day for the sake of a few ££
getting back to my point and small items that are low cost.
DO NOT scrimp on things that you need to make your system work, don't listen and you will pay the price this is fact sooner or later it will happen you will be off for a day or 2 till part arives you may have scrimped on £10 but that may have just cost £200 plus (answer buy the good quality not cheapo to save a pound or three )if going for a spilt relay always have a back up battery with you, again dont listen and it will cost you one day.
This guys is fact not fiction. ;)

p.s glad I got that off my chest was annoying me reading it and many other posts,. One thinmg I have to add split relays do work as long as your batteries are fine, I will have one on vans but will ahve a back up, and also a booster pack (Jerry foster ching knows what I mean his advice p vans :P)

Good point Ian.
I can understand people shopping around to get the specific item they want at the best price possible.
If I want more microfibre cloths of a particular make, I'll use the online supplier that sells them at the best price.
What I won't do is go to B&Q and buy a bargain bag of cheapo microfibre cloths that are not anything like the quality of the proper flat weave ones that are best for window cleaning!!!

yes alan andrewswestsi they do come with fitting instructions and are easy to wire up but i would recommend getting someone who know something about electrics to do as it is you electric system.
it a great peice of kit and i have been told that its better then the relay type one you get I(that was buy a caravan salesman)

I had an autoelectrician fit one in one of my vans and it was fine for a while
but as time went by and we do not do loads of miles it did not get much chance
of charging the second battery, hence it was failing during the day.
On a decent size job over a couple of days it will not be sufficient to charge the second battery and you will end up charging it seperately.
I have recently dis-connected the wires to it and charge battery up every other day and it all seams fine.
I am in two minds wether to reconnect it or just hold a spare battery.
