Day started off well two jobs no problem then my van ford transit new shape breaks down.Garage came out and towed it back to the garage told we will look at it straight away.Went back at 4pm still in the same place where the tow truck left it ::)
Cancelled the other two jobs I had booked customers not happy.Hired a Fiat Diablo nothing else available no room to swing a cat had to leave host machine, von schrader machine and only room for one blower. How do people manage with small vans or estate cars ???
Any way I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of the transit as it broke down last year at the same time of year this time with a snapped gear linkage. Why does it always happen when I'm booked solid and don't want to let customers down

Hi
You have just experienced Murphys second law...
When it goes wrong it will be at the most inconvienient time, cost the most money and cause the most problems possible.

Sorry to hear, of your dilemma but it happens!
I take it that you did not need those bits of equipment, so why do you need to carry all that equipment in the first place? I only have a small van as such and find it to be very carnivorous if I need to put on extra equipment for the day.
I have more blowers than you can you can imagine do I carry one NO!
Any way I would have chewed some one backside if they done that to me.
You just reminded me when I brought my van new and it had to go in for it’s first service I told them I needed a courtesy van on arrival, they did not have a van but a car is said any chance of an estate sorry have not got one, knowing I could not unbolt my equipment I took the porty along should have seen there faces, lucky for me is was not a smart car.

A bad run of luck Steve, surely. It does annoy me at this time of year garages close down until after new years day and it is just too bad if you happen to break down. They do not even want to know ,no matter how much business you put their way during the rest of the year.

sorry to hear about that steve but hows your eclipse going

Steve, sorry to hear of your plight, I would give the garage some pressure to get it back on the road asap.
Someone bumped into my van (Berlingo) last Thursday, damaged front wing, bumper, bonnet and drivers headlight. I phoned my insurance, who told me which garage to take it to, they gave me a Vauxhall Vivaro, fully ply lined with cargo racking, told me mine would be ready by 24th, got a phone call today (20th) all ready to pick up, and it's been valeted and washed as well!!
But I've taken a fancy to the Vivaro, the space inside was huge compared to the Berlingo and a lovely vehicle to drive as well. I'm tempted to upgrade mine now.

Len I tend to take each job on merit and decide which is the best method when I arrive at the job plus i don't want to keep coming home between jobs to change equipment.
