What size boat have you got john generally the automotive ones are not used for marine use. You will need a proper charging splitter to power both services and motor battery!

Its only an 18 footer Goron. Main battery for the 48hp outboard and leisure battery for fish finder, VHF etc.

Well i should imagine it would be good enough for that. you can also get them from places like motorworld as they use them for caravans!
