I've been getting TDS reading of 6 to 8 from RO (4040) but after it has gone through DI it goes down to 1.8 to 2.2 but havn't got it lower than 1.8. Should it really go down to 0 and if so what should I do to get it lowerthan 2???
-
Should go to zero. Is the container clean your using to measure it in? Is your resin new? If yes to both then see if you can borrow another tds meter?
-
Yes to all and Meter 2 weeks old. I've got some calibration solution so I'll re set it and try again. Just can't get it less than 1.7. If I did clean at 2 TDS would that be a problem???
Thanks

Try a tds meter that doesn't need calibrating, also run two small di vessels one into the other. 8) Syd

2ppm won't show up on the glass, probably will be the meter not reading correctly though.

do you have an inline tds meter by any chance ?
-
No hand held as I was told in line are not very accurate. I'll check the meter after I've calibrated it. It may well be right. Resin is brand new and not regenerated..or whatever the phrase is. ::)

Don't worry too much if you cant get it lower. 2ppm is fine. I am currently working at 5ppm and there is NO difference between the cleanliness of the glass. I usually work at 0 or maybe 1 but I will not change it until it gets to about 7ppm.

What size is your Di vessel?

11ltr with brand new resin.

The tds comes out after 2 DI vessels higher than it come out of my RO. :o
But after a couple of minutes it is down to zero. Or 1 most of the time.

Hmm if its 11ltrs it has to be a faulty tds meter or you are somehow contaminating the water pre Di ,
do you check the Ro tds before putting it through the Di?

You say that, and I would agree except I had a comment from a good long term customer a week or so back that her windows weren't as good as they usually are. On that day I was running with water that was around 2-3ppm prior to changing resin.
I was suprised but she's not a moaner and she hasn't made any comments before.
Strange.
