Title: Happens every time
Post by: frames to panes on March 25, 2008, 08:00:15 pm
Looked at my schedule for this week and i'm packed out with work, it's the couple of weeks in the month when i've got too much, four days off for easter hasn't helped. Anyway off i go and straight away i'm picking up new work. Why doesn't it happen when i'm slack? ::)

Same here but I'm not complaining mate.  I'm a bit behind at the moment.  A whingy back (much better this evening) and a streaming cold have slowed me down a lot.  Picked up a new £17er today without looking for it.

djw you need to "blend" your round,it takes a few cycles but just let some run over and do some a couple days early, eventually it all slides together and you have a similar amount of work each week
unless you have already set your round up on a set day cycle :(

Your right there, i did start on a set day and some expect it but the rest are slowly being manouvered into a smoother more compact round. What happens when you start up is you tend to work to the set day rather than lose money with days of no work. The bad weather can be a good thing sometimes as it forces you to push work on to the next day or week.

;D ;D ;D ;Dthats it exactly it just takes a while,i started out on a once a month round and found this same problem but as the work came in (but also went,or got passed on or just dropped)it just sorted itsel out  ;D ,I now tell new custs its a five week round (under ideal conditions its about 5and half really)but it often goes to six plus

You need to work harder mate, and not go home for lunch ;D ;D

I picked up two new ones yesterday but told both I can't do them for a couple weeks because I am behind at the moment due to the weather, Easter etc. They were fine about it.
One of the advantages of keeping my round so compact is I can move work around, and I do.
