has any cc used Ultimate Master, and what do you think of it?
-
Well I like it.
Question i would like to know is,
If you use products like ultimate Master or Microsplitter type products does this make burnt test obselete apart from convincing customer you are a knowledgable Carpet Cleaner
-
It's good but doesnt always dissolve properly even with stirring. Then you could have blocked filters over time. I used it the other day cos I ran out of liquid, and I had bits in the filters.
I only use liquid now but not ultimate master as it's not very economical. Its ok on price initially but the ratio isnt great (on par with Fibre & Fabric rinse etc) so doesn't last that long, which makes it a bit expensive to use.
When you see ratios like F90 etc etc then why can't ultimate master? They would sell more if this was the case ;)

I like to use it as a prespray, the powder has more punch but does block filters quick so I tend to use the liquid version more now.
Try Prochem power burst ;) if you like powders.
-
I 99% use liquids but I have just come across these free samples in my garage fron last years cleaning show, I like the sound of you can use it as a pre spray and also use it as a rince, unlike F90, I will give it a go and mix it in a bucket first, regards terry
-
I used it years ago when I had a safeclean Franchise and found it to be very good,
but again you must mix it well.
I think it has a water softner added to it.
-
Did not rate the stuff better products available out there
-
I have to agree paul have tried ultimate master and powerburst is far better imo

I am (as many know) a U/M fan. It cannot be compared to Prochems Powerburst (Which I also use) as it is a different product (Its not an allout prespray). I have used it in portables and TMs for years and have never once has a blocked filter, in fact just the opposite, my QCs, jets and hoses have always been absolutely clear of any residue. You will get scum if you mix too high a water temp and obvious problems if you mix with too much powder as you will exceed the saturation level (seen as sttlement in the tank or bottom of solution bottle).
Dave.
-
hi Dave, I am not sure what you mean with (Its not an allout prespray)., regards terry
-
Done a side-by-side test on a pub carpet = to blitz now have moved to greener pastures still powered. ;)
Oh yes still get blocked filters think it down to water quality ;D

I agree on the difference power in the 2 products.
I like and use UM for wools, I use it as a pre spray and fresh water rinse.I find the smell from it and the softness of the carpet after the clean is superb.
For synthetics I prefere powerburst ( thanks Simon) as its stronger formulation eats through the dirt and grease quite quickly and needs very little aggitation.
-
i think ultimate master is now self neutralising so no need to rinse with water or do an acid spray. i like the stuff
-
paul would it not be easyer to use it from the tank as a prey spray and still use it to rince as it is self neutralising.
-
Terry you can use it either way, however I like to aggitate my carpets with an envirodri as the end result is far superior than just spray and extract, for that reason I use it as a prespray and when aggitated in gets to all soiled areas, I find that i dont need to use any more product in the tank as a fresh water rinse is surfice, also saves your chem. The other thing I have found over time is that your equipment lasts longer with just fresh water as a rinse rather than a chemical rinse , especially pumps.
-
hi paul, have you compared this with multi pro and F/fabric, regards terry
-
Cleansmart was doing a good deal on Ult Master a couple months ago - whether the good deal is still on ?
Give Matt a ring and ask if anyone interested in 4kg tubs of the powder.
-
Terry, ive tried most of them over the years, some you stick with others you change. At this moment in time I use about 20 different chems, for different situations and methods, along with m/s the above 2 I prob use most at the moment. But its like everything else, one chemical works great for one cleaner and not for another, remember that all the main suppliers chemicals are all good and work, its how we use them and suit them to our own style of cleaning.
-

Very true Paul. That's what we do, a fresh water rinse only. We spray on all chems and agitate for good result then extract using hot fresh water, nothing else..........
For those who put chems altogether in solution tank, try buying a decent electric sprayer unit and try spraying on your chems then agitating either with a simple carpet 18" brush or something like a sebo etc....... see the difference and your machinery will last longer......cheers :)

Someone sent me 5 litre a sample a while ago and we put it to work alongside our usual chems. We were working on a cruise ship at the time so had a few units working on the same thousand seater restaurant cleaning the chairs. UM frothed up like billy-o and dried with a definite sticky feel to it. The other two units were on Prochem F&F Rinse and Fab Clean and didn't suffer with the same problem.
In the end we tipped it where in my opinion it belongs... down the drain.

Simon we had this conversation on the other channel. I also had the same batch and it was off, so the result you got was not the norm.
-
Paul,
I think it was Frans Haak who gave me the sample.
In all my thirty years in the industry I have never known a chemical to be 'off.' and I certainly can't afford to risk my reputation on an iffy chemical.
Simon
PS. Thanks for the sponges, they clean under your arms so much better than a loofah! ;D
-
Terry,
What I meant was, that with U/M you can use it as a pre spray proir to rinsing with it as opposed to the likes of Powerburst which is a pre spray you would use before rinsing with another product or plain water.
We all have our favourites and ways of combining them with others. Like Simon, I have discounted stuff that I have not been impressed with, probably not given stuff much of a trial, but if you already know of other stuff that works well anything new to you, has to blow you away, to get you to change, or add to your list.
Dave.

hi dave as my favourite i use multi pro and fib/fabric and get the best clean possible every time, but just thinking if I could get the same best clean with just using the U/M to prey spray from the wand then to adgertate in with my host and then rince out with the same U/M, it would save me time filling up the prey spray bottle, I will have to give it a go, regards terry
-
Terry,
Why go from a tried and tested formula that not only provides a good clean without the risk of dye bleed etc to a one shot approach with a chemical that has clearly had its day, not that it ever had one.
You started out sounding so professional....
-
Simon, as my first post read I had found some free powder samples in my garage, just wanted to know if it was as good as what I am using, if the responce was good I would try it and keep it on the van, I must say that I am a prochem man, even use most of there spotting range.
-
Good on ya, mate. You just can't get any better than Prochem as far as chemicals are concerned and I think you need that reassurance as you go to your jobs, that you've got the best, that is.
Simon
-
Terry,
Just try it and see.
Dave.
-
hi dave I will give it a go, will let you know the out come, thanks regards terry
