Title: kinking hoses!
Post by: Richy L on March 21, 2008, 11:18:55 pm
Im fed up woth my hoses kinking for pressure washing(water from the tap).
Would a microbore hose work? or would it not be able to carry enough water?i.e. be too narrow to let enough water through

Microbore wont let the volume through especially on long runs.
I don't have any probs with kinking hose, what hose do you use mine is the good quality yellow hose in 35mtr lenghts wound onto hose reels.
The cheapo green stuff is awfull

hi there

ricky we have used the professional range of low pressure hoses, they are more expensive than the standard ranges, but dont seem to suffer as much.

does anyone have an example of what they use.
I just like the idea of microbore as its light and you can fit 100 mtrs on a reel easily without taking up too much room

Richy, forget microbore its no good to feed a powerwasher.
I use this hose, follow the link it's called extraflex
I have 2x 35mtr reels of 1/2 inch plus a loose coiled 30mtr lenght of 3/4 inch

i suck the water from a barrel, so i dont need microbore to suck the water, just microbore to fill it. should i forget about it?
I just want to minimize the amount of space the hose takes up too.

I'd forget it. The aim is to supply as much water as you use, if you dont the barrell will run dry then you have to prime pump up again.
Microbore won't come near 15 litres a miniute on any decent run.

Forgive my ignorance but I thought "kinking hoses" were held up with suspenders. I use the green and yellow hoselock stuff
