Post by: jacko on December 17, 2004, 12:53:23 pm
Have a call out to treat a leg wax spill in a thick pile wool carpet at a plush hotel.

What product to u guys recomend to use, i have Eco-Spotter, Prochem Citrus Gel, and Solvall,  and of course F&F acidic rinse to complete.

Would appreciate your advice..

I haven't waxed my legs before so I'm not sure what  it's made of.  If it's the same as candle wax then I would use an iron and brown paper.

id prob go down that route as well, unless you could heat your water up sufficiently to melt it using your wand.

Hi Jacko

I would suggest Eco spotter indirectly applied using a cloth then using a wooded scraper gently remove the surface wax, then retreat via a micro fibre cloth or similar finish with rinsing out reset the pile with a soft brush.

Hope this helps

Best regards Nick

Jacko,

Nicks' solution (pardon the pun) works surprisingly well, without the need for heat.

Hi Jacko,

Never done it myself but regularly visit a salon. The wax is very sticky like honey and about the same consistency. It doesn't go off hard like candle wax but remains tacky.

There are different sorts of professional wax, some with conditioning oils in.

I suppose the DIY varieties are similar.
