hi,
I went to do a three seater sofa and two armchairs today, the suite was a jaquard cotton in gold, on the precleaning inspection i found the whole suite had brown patches all over it as if somthing had wicked out of the fabric but on inspecting the inside of the cushions there was nothing evident to cause the bleed.
The customer told me had the suite had been cleaned twice by chem dry, the first time she said it came up well but the second time they cleaned it the brown pactches appeared all over after a couple of days when it had dried, the patches were still evident even after i cleaned and dried it, the question i want to ask is how could this have happened and how could i have removed them?
thanks

Hi Don
If as you say the fabric is a cotton material it sounds as though it has been overwet probably with an alkaline chemical which has then resulted in Cellulosic browning.
In many instances it can be rectified.
The customer should be talking to the previous cleaner regarding rectification...at this stage it isn't your problem
