Well the machine arrived this afternoon and what a beast. It is well built and robust.I will be using it tomorrow for the first time so I will post again tomorrow. The downside to the eclipse is the weight it is heavy but not unmanagable and the wand is not the best i've seen but more tomorrow.Overall I'm very pleased with the machine ;D
-
I agree its a really nice machine! Build quality is the best ive seen which explains the weight, but it is liftable with no problems getting it into the Kangoo.
Keeping brief as I'm about to start using it ;D
Paul
-
ooohhhh the suspense!! i cant stand it anymore, let us all know how you get on as im looking for new machine in new year and this tool is a big option for me, (unless the wife has got me 1 for crimbo!!??) stu
-
Rug Clean and first impressions of Eclipse are that its one hell of a machine ;D
I had no problems with the 2 power cables which i simply ran from one double socket, the heat made it 3 power points, my house doesnt have the greatest wiring and some things cause it to trip but it didnt so dont see this being a problem in the future.
The vacuum is very strong, in another league when compared to the comanche and quieter than the prochem machine too( cant knock the comanche its been a good reliable servant) The pump which is HUGE produces ample preasure and is a real breath of fresh as air i hated being limited to 100psi.
As i mentioned before the build quality is supurb, seeing the machine on the computer doesnt do it justice!!
I look forward to using it on a proper job so i can get to grips with it a little more.

Used it for the first time this morning large sitting/dining room did one half of the room and it was dry within 35 minutes customer over the moon.Gunny over the moon money well spent. It could do with a handle on the front to help with lifting.Dry cleaning all day tomorrow so no report tomorrow.
-
You will tell us when you get the Hernia, wont you Steve ???
-
How the eclipse started out ;D
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4709&item=3770685998&rd=1
-
Steve
I wonder which of the Essex boys are selling it ;D ;D
Len
-
Steve/Paul,
Your first impressions were positive for the Eclipse. Now that you've both had your machines for a couple of weeks what are your overall impessions now? Any niggles? A good buy?
Regards.
Martin S
-
A very good buy but maybe i'm easliy pleased after having a ninja ;)
-
Steve, Don't start comparing Nick VW to Martin A or we will never get through all the posts ;D
-
Chris,
Am I missing something here? ??? ??? ??? ???
Martin S
-
Nothing personal against Martin's..............just supplier of Ninja ::)
-
I'm chuffed to bits with my Eclipse ;D Its a very impressive machine and the Vacuum power really does give fantastic drying times, maybe even half that of the comanche so should be able to run plenty of hose lenght.
The waste output hose i different to anything else ive seen, although at first its a little fiddly it may turn out to be quite useful.
The machine is reasonably heavy but as i'm still in my twenties (Just :-[) Ive not found this to be an issue as it goes in and out of the van easily, I understand a 300psi machine would be coniderably lighter and doubt i'll use the full 500+ psi anyway so if weight was a concern the eclipse is still viable.
I'm sure this machine will get plenty of interest at the cleaning show as IMO its head and shoulders above anything at carpex, Ive had a couple of visitors already who are looking to upgrade and both have been very impressed.
Merry Christmas :)
Paul
-
Aah I see what you mean Chris. Different Martin. I'm a bit slow today.
-
Anyone thinking of starting up or changing his or her machine should seriously consider the Eclipse from Solution. I have only start using it properly this week following on from trying it before Xmas. What a difference in drying times and no of passes needed to clean the carpet. With my ninja doing an average size room it would use a full tank of water but the eclipse does not use as much water. That’s something I don’t understand as I was running it a 300psi but the ninja only 135psi but hey who’s complaining. Customers I have done in the past are commenting that they can see a difference obviously I wasn’t doing as good a job as I thought. The 4 jet wand is fantastic its light and performs brilliantly no streaks. I must get a ramp for the rear of the van as my back won't take much more of this lifting in and out. Defiantly contact Nick at Solution for more details if you are thinking of changing your machine you won’t regret it I know I don’t. Or wait till the cleaning show in March for a demo ;D
-
Totally agree with Steve ;D I too have used the Eclipse today and its truely in a different league.
Steve, Did you struggle to recover your hand from the vaccum when priming the pump :o Ouch!!
Paul
-
hi
how much does the eclipse cost as i will be paying for my advantage on friday
what is the price comparison should i go for the eclipse
cheers for any info on this
thanks NICK
-
It's like thisNickP, if you buy the advantage today you will be looking for more power and performance six months down the road, so if you can why not get the extra right now.
-
Ive got the Advantage and agree with Fintan. It needs more psi.
How does the Eclipse heat the water? Does it need three leads?
Mark
-
You use an inline heater.Yes you need three leads with the heater .
-
Steve/Paul,
Are the Vac' motors on the Eclipse in Series (VO) or Parallel (AO)?
I read somewhere, (can't remember where) about a manufacturer that offers you the option of either set up. Not sure if this was Cleancraft or not!
Cheers.
Martin S
-
hi there steve
have you had any problems with trip switchs. when you are useing
the inline heater as well.
-
Steve,
When you aquired your Ninja why did you not get one with the larger pump.?
I am told that if anyone wants a larger pump in Advantage they can have one.
-
David M,
My house has notoriously bad wiring and trips without too much trouble, I have used the Eclipse with the two machine leads plugged into a twin socket and the heater running from a socket in the same room, to my suprise no problems what so ever :)
Paul
-
I have not had a problem with the electrics tripping ;D
-
The advantage only comes with the 135psi option.
Mark
-
Now i have the advantage of using a machine with 500psi I dont know how i have managed with only 100psi for so long ???
So doubt another 35psi be much better!
One thing that i have noticed is that the pump fitted to my eclipse is rated at 1500psi :o but is limited to 500, so no worries of overstressing :)
Paul
-
Paul/Steve,
How would you strong young bucks rate the manouvreability of the Eclipse for ageing cc's like myself?
Cheers,
Doug
-
Hi Doug,
The monouverability is actually superb, its very well balanced and well laid out with the hoses all connecting to the rear of the machine and a majority of the weight over the back wheels, this makes moving it mid clean much easier than the comanche.
Saying that the machine is a little heavy but not un managable, this weight is a result of the beast of a pump and motor which may weigh over 20kg alone :o
Nick tells me the 300psi set up is far lighter :)
Paul
-
Paul,
If you were to use your Eclipse at 135 psi, you would notice a difference in performance over the Surflow pump of the same pressure.
This is due to the fact that your current pump has sufficient flow to sustain the pressure.
-
Doug
I lifted into my van today with half a tank of water. Its very easy to manoeuvre a ramp would be helpful but more of a luxury than a necessity.
Martin S
The vacs are in series.
-
Cheers Steve.
Martin S

Steve
Have to ask why, after any job I empty the porty that is! But if had ramps I think I need to watch this space. ;) :-X
Len
-
I was going to another job 2 miles down road why waste chemical ;D
-
Steve !
Waste Chemical - in your tank!!! ? - I'll tell Nick
-
Steve
You got me, ;D ;D or perhaps you are going to show the next customer what type of neighbours they have? What away to drum up business even two miles away: who’s to know! :P
John
Steve may be into recycling? ;D ;D
Len
-
Steve !
Waste Chemical - in your tank!!! ? - I'll tell Nick
I don't exclusivley just use microsplitters ;)
-
Hi Guys
I heard !!!
Best regards Nick
-
Anyone else using the Eclipse or have only myself and Paul got one ??? If so what do they think or has anyone had a demonstration ???
-
I gave a demonstraiton to what turned out to be a spy from a well known machine supplier :o :o :o
Cheaky B@stards :)
Paul
-
lol how did u suss em out ?
-
I saw a picture of him in a cleaning magazine :o
Busted!!!
And I gave Him a bottle of number 3 to try out >:( so I'm looking out for him at the show ;D
Paul
-
I'm sure the Eclipse has his company running scared 8)
-
Come on Paul tell us who it was ???
-
i would say giving pauls loc the firm begins with a A and ends with a C :-\ am i right paul ?lol
-
Paul,
Did you play along with it? Or did you let him know you had him sussed?
Don't know why people can't be up front and honest about it and say, 'we make blah blah blah, but want to improve on it/develop a new machine' or whatever, 'can we have a look?'
I bet most people would have let him have a look if the price was right......discount. ;)
Regards.
Martin S
-
Hi Chaps,
To be honest Martin at the time I didnt realise he was snooping, he gave the impression he was a CC looking to buy a new machine, although he was rather unforthcoming when I asked about his business. It wasnt until whilst browsing through the latest prochem catalogue, I noticed a picture of the guy :o this was a few weeks after he had been spying.
I would have prefered honesty but I guess the introduction of a machine which blitzes there offerings was bound to get them conserned ;)
Paul
-
Finally got my ramp
(http://img133.exs.cx/img133/5356/ec.jpg)
-
Hi Steve

Nah, rather watch Mick McCarthy puch the players up your ramp ;D
Shaun

Come on whats the price, I cant find it anywhere, its not a secret is it?

Price for what?
-
Seve,
The Eclipse?
Dave.

Dave 3300+vat including hose, wand and inline heater

Thanks Steve,
I thought it would be around that figure. Just one point, where do the vac motors exhaust to, the side, back or ground?
Dave.

The 300psi model is even less :)
Paul
-
Paul,
Any chance of a looksee in action some time?
Regards.
Martin S
PS. I am not a 'spy'
-
Shaun you can watch the lads on sky tonight playing Wolves top of the leauge if we win by two clear goals ;D
Oh dear, things haven't panned out too well for the Mackem then Steve? ;)
Top of the Championship, pah! More like five points behind. Wolves are a decent enough side so I'm not too surprised that you didn't win. You want somewhere a bit easier like Bramall Lane.
Sorry Shaun, but us tractor boys are gonna take some stopping! ;D
-
Yeah!! come on the tractor Boys ;D Looks like Unsworth will be a good loan signing with his debut goal :)
Martin S,
Sure come and have a look, I'm having a bit of a demonstation day this Tuesday from 12 so come along :)

Yes covers are available.Anyone interested in the ramp I purchased from ebay they are available from http://www.villamead.co.uk/index.htm contact them for a price.
-
Ashley 39,
Nick can also supply a slide in ramp come machine anchor point with the Eclipse package, this is taylor made for the Eclipse machine and provides added security for your van and equipment when locked in place. Not sure on prices for this, you would have to speak to Nick, but you can be sure the price will be very competetive as he adds very little mark up to any of his products.
Paul
-
Where does the Eclipse vac motors exhaust to?
Dave.
-
Dave it exhausts from the bottom
-
Steve,
Thought so, thats a down side to me. The Prochem Cheyenne 3 does the same, I eventually diverted the exhaust to the side, as when the machine was placed on lino or tiled floor with no drip mat the moist exhaust air condensed and wet the floor. Also it bounced back into the workings of the machine, which got really hot and seemed to shorten the pump life. However, the Eclipse may not have this problem, as unlike the Cheyenne, it does have the benefit of cooling fans.
Dave.
-
Hi Dave
a good point, however wait until you see the Eclipse pump, it bigger than most TM pumps! and extremely well built. On the indestructable side a good part of the overall weight of the machine ifs actually the pump.
Best regards Nick
-
Nick can you give us a price breakdown of the eclipse
Paul
-
Nick
I think from memory that you said in a previous post that the 500psi eclipse weighs 120 lbs, please correct me if I am wrong. As you say a large part of this is the pump I was wondering how much does the set-up weigh with the 300 psi pump. Are you thinking of importing it as well, for us oldies!
Regards Michel
-
Michel,
The 300psi model is available from Nick, and Its cosiderably lighter :)
Paul
-
The tray can be removed if required so the machine could be taken upstairs a bit like the alltec advantage ;D
-
Thats interesting, I did,nt know the tray could be removed like the advantage.
Some of my work is in mansion blocks with no lift. the ability to break the machine down would be a huge advantage(non pun intended) to me
Steve, is it as easy to take out as the advantage or does ie require lots of work. Any idea roughly how long it would take
Thanks Michel
-
Hi Michel
10-12 minutes
Best regards Nick
-
Thanks Nick
Sounds like a bit of a job
Nick did you see my previous post asking about the weight of the 300 psi set up
Michel

Paul
-
Thanks Nick
Was I remembering correctly when I said the 500psi was 120lbs
Also what size wheels are fitted
Regards Michel
-
Paul
Eco I believe ;D
Len
-
Hi Michel
A serious question thanks
10" wheels fitted, and yes about 120lbs, I have not actually had a chance to weigh it yet, it is very manoeuvrable,
Paul, I'm not even going to answer that!!!
Best regards Nick
-
Nick ur getting too serious in your old age ;D ;D ;D
A serious question then.
How much is the Eclipse with 500 psi inc vat
Paul
-
Hi Paul
have sent you direct e
Best regards Nick
-
Last question then
Are you bringing in the 300psi machine. Is it 300 or 350 psi
Michel
-
Hi Michel
300 psi and 500psi with the 1500 psi to follow after March
Best regards Nick
-
1500 psi WOW
Nick this must put a massive increase on price.
Can you email me 1500 psi price.
Paul
-
Paul
bare in mind the 1500 psi model only has 2 vacs and 146" of lift so its only an average carpet cleaning machine, it is designed to work with the aqua blade for hard floor cleaning. my personal feeling is this job could be completed to a higher standard with a specific machine, as could the carpet clean, after all you can buy a very high power engine driven pressure washer for around £1000
have a think about it first if you still want to know I will forward it to you.
Best regards Nick
-
Got back from not so sunny Cornwall with my Eclipse last night. Yeah! ;D
Can't wait to start using it, but that won't be until late next week, as the small matter of a house move is taking priority now, so the boss tells me.
Nick, it was great to meet you, and thanks for all the time you took in showing me the workings of the Eclipse and Super Pad Charly and all the extras you supplied.
I promise I won't mention our special arrangement of getting the Eclipse for free as long as I drove down to collect it. :)
I'm sure I'll be back on the phone soon with more questions, as I'll never remember everything you explained. Even after a very restful sleep in a lovely local guest house, I still felt like a zombie after the seven hour journey down from Ipswich. I just wish the journey back was only seven hours! Can't anyone drive on motorways without causing accidents these days?
-
Mark@Eco-Powerclean welcome to the Eclipse owners club ;D
-
Gee, thanks Steve.
Help. I'm even talking like a Yank now. :(
-
Paul
From reading this thread I know that both you and steve are finding the drying times much improved with you eclipse. What Iwas wondering was about was the water consumption. I know Steves Ninja was getting through an awfull lot but I was wondering how it compared for water consumption with your Comanche.
Also in a previous post somewhere you said taking the motor tray out was really easy(I think you said A monkey could do it, which puts it out of my league!) and I think Steve also said it was a doddle similar to the advantage. When I asked Nick he said 10-12 minutes which is a hell of a lot longer than the advantage and far too long to be practicall on aday to day basis.
As users I would be gratefull for yours and Steves (hope the hand is getting better) comments on this aspect of your new machines
Regards Michel
-
Michel the tray does not need to be removed on a day to day basis only on occasions when it is necessary to take the machine upstairs.Yes it takes a little longer than the advantage but 10-12 minutes is not that long bearing in mind how long it takes to set up. I have tried the machine using 125ft of hose and drying times are still good.I emailed an owner in the USA who regularly uses 150ft of hose so really the tray does not need to be removed all the time although not recommended to get the best from the machine.I regularly use 75ft of hose with no problem.I have only had to remove the tray once which was a block of flats with no lift and no power supply downstairs.
Steve
-
Finally got my ramp
(http://img133.exs.cx/img133/5356/ec.jpg)
The ramp is available from Villamead in Birmingham contact them for a price
http://www.villamead.co.uk/index.htm
-
Now there is more than myself and Paul who have the new eclipse any feedback from other owners??
-
Picked mine up at the end of January. It's an excellent piece of kit but as a newbie to the industry I can't really make comparisons to other machines, although I can definitely say it does make my lack of experience less evident!!!
I bought the Eclipse after a lot of research, Nick was extrememly helpful, and I bought a few other bits from him to complete my start-up package.
Downside - it's not exactly easy to move up stairs or even anything more than a couple of steps, luckily it's powerful enough to allow me to run decent lengths of hose so theres no need to move it too far.
Andy
-
Andy
Have you got the 300 or the 500 psi
What about loading in and out of the van
Michel
-
I have the 500psi version.
Loading in and out of the van is no problem, there's a certain way which takes the effort out of it.
Andy
-
I feel reluctant to join in the debate as I get told off by Forumn members who think i have somthing against Solutions.
Far from it in the past Nick has given me some good advise .
However I am a little puzzled about the mystery about the price.
I think it would be unethical to publish the price and details on here, but if there is an offer, special leasing details extra discount for NCCA, another forum, Cleantalk or Cleanitup memebers why not publish details on Soulutions Web Site.
I would certainly consider machine if I was looking for a replacement, but weight or ability to pull through long hoses would also be a consideration
And there are three other contenders
-
Theres no mystery about the price obviously if someone is wanting to lease the equipment they need to speak to Nick as he is the one with the details of the finance package.Weight is not a factor with the 300psi version it can be picked up if needed but there is a knack to getting it in and out of the van without a ramp. There are a lot of good machines out there but at the end of the day you pay your money and only you can decide what you want.
-
Ian,
Ability to run long hose lengths?? Steve has ran 125ft of hose and still achieved very good drying times.
Regarding weight I find the 300psi machine really easy to pick up so no issues there either, Its a real shame you didnt make the show and get a good look at the Eclipse, It went down a storm :) Almost as popular as my Mrs ;D
Paul
-
Ian
I'm a little confussed at your post, what is the mystery about the price?
The machines are not on the Solution web site currently, because it is a shared site with Germany, details on the price and specification arte readily available, to anyone that requires them. lease facilities depend on individual requirements, however and Eclipse machine can be leased for as little as £18per week plus vat.
subject to the normal approval requirements,
Is there anyone else you would like to add to the list of dicounted purchasers, price is based on value for money.
Best regards Nick
-
When you consider everything that comes with the Eclipse It really is good value.
-
Weight of a machine should no be an issue!!
For your own safety, get a ramp.. It doesn't have to be an expensive one, mine cost about £30 and 1/2 a day and a bit of carpentry skill.
Chris
-
So that was your missus on the solution stand then Paul????
Nice to see a pretty face instead of some of the ugly other carpet cleaners around..........only joking folks
