I will post when they are available. They will be £29.95 jetted, not cheap, but they should give top quality cleaning with years of bristle life.

I dont mind either. The Ionics crinkle dual brush only lasted 3 mths and is a right mess, will probably come in handy for con roof cleans though as it was good for scrubbing tough muck.

Oh and Alex, you should give it a name so on the forums we can easily differentiate between other brushes. For instance somone might say " I use the Gardiner brush, I love it " and someone goes on your site and sees a vikan and assumes that is the brush!! do you get me, I know I sound confusing! Luke

Makes it expensive considering the vikan is £21.50, gold plated is it :P

But it is half the weight.... if I remember correctly, 240g I think Alex said. Weighed my Vikan rectangular one last night and its way over half a kilo!!

Not gold-plated, just low weight and excellent bristles.

It costs twice the price of the Vikan for us to buy in and therefore will actually make us less profit margin. I would not consider working with a Vikan as by comparison it's from the dark ages.

Hope it lasts twice as long as the vikans.

You still failed to answer whether its without vat and delivery , but I'll take the non answer as it's without.

That's  Brush £29.99
Shipping   ...... £3.00 (based on your 230g supa lite)
VAT................  £5.77

Total.........       £38.76 :o

I'll have 10 ;D

It will fit the standard angle adapter or our G-Fit range.

Hope it lasts twice as long as the vikans.

Sorry forgot that bit of the question, heads a bit fuzzy today!

Yes it is without delivery or VAT. As you demonstrate it is not cheap to buy, but as with most things you get what you pay for. It will only really appeal to certain buyers and these will no doubt feel that it is worth it.

Will it last twice as long as a Vikan? I doubt it as the Vikans are pretty bullet-proof, which is their main problem. I am confident though it will last a good couple of years and during that time will prove to be twice as efficient at the job of cleaning windows as a Vikan.

I like the Bentleys as well Marcus and they are the only other brush I use. However I do prefer the new brush as it does clean the glass more easily than the Bentley, given the choice I always reach for the pole with the new brush on.

Jesus Christ, you set of tight wads, it's gonna be 40 quid or near enough. give the man a break. You get what you pay for & this man has put endless hours of REAL R&D into this project. Sure it's gonna be good, will it suit everybody? who knows, 40 quid is nothing if it does the job easier/better & if not it's still worth 40 quid to find out! ::)

£40 for a brush surely isn't much if you already spent £300 on a pole.

It is a bit on the expensive side, but let's face it, designing a new brush and the hole stuff around it is expensive. It's nowhere near as expensive as a Tucker though!

We're not taking pre-orders for the brush.  When they are on the website, they'll be available to buy.  The new pole will be coming in this week as well, so by this Friday or next Monday we will be ringing/emailing all those that have pre-ordered them.

Morning Glyn

If we just sold my personal preference on all the WFP equipment I work with, I don't think Kirsty (the boss) would bother running Gardiner Pole Systems as it's been set up for all window cleaners, not just me  ;D.  Anyway, thanks for the link!

Alex - sorry but do you know what the final weight of the brush will be?

we use salmon brushes (11" and 15") and while they are light, if we can get our mitts on anything lighter we'd certainly have a look at changing over.

thanks

Chris

Almost all the poles are pre ordered already, I don't think there is a need for a discount, I'm prepared to pay £360 for the best pole I will work with for years to come. Would be nice though, but it's expensive enough in R&D to make a pole and put it to market, I think Gardiners deserve that price. :)

Alex if my eyes serve me correct then on the picture of your Dad using the slx the new brush had a thread plate rather than a molded on thread, am I right? Will it go to production like this? If it does it would be good, as different makes of pole ( Tuckers and different types of threads ) could use it. I hope I havent spoiled some sort of feature! Luke

Hi Luke

You do have keen eyes.  Originally the brush was going to have a moulded on thread and our contacts in China are still working on this as it would keep post-assembly time to a minimum but in order to get the brush to market we decided to go with a two piece stock (bristle holding plate and attached angle socket).  This is the same that we have been using on our prototype brushes now for a year or more and it works very well.  It does allow you to easily attach different types of brush stock.

The reason that we are pressing on with a moulded on thread is not to do with suitability for the job or any practical benefit but purely assembly time and overall cost of product.

We'll see what customer feedback is like and make a decision.  If the one piece stock comes in at the price we're hoping it will, we may be able to retail the jetted brush for about £17 which is quite a saving for the customer.
