Hi Guys
Had a few problems to day just wondered if anyone could shed some light. Blazer started to labour, when I pull throttle out is slowley increases power sounding very rough! It did dip in power the other day then cured itself? Its a bit dark now to investigate but I will tommorrow any ideas? It still runs lumpy on tickover, not smoking loads. I;ve just changed oil, oil filter and air filter. I'm thinking maybe fuel filter it hasnt been changed in ages what do you think? I really would appreciate feed back on this one. I hope it isnt anything serious busy week next week!

Justin is all the water is flowing correctly out of your solution line( no filters blocked) then I think your right its your fuel filter, change it and should be fine,I had a similar prob about 6 months ago and it was just that.

I hope your right it has been spitting a little oil through the exhaust I dont know if thats relevant? When it happened to you how did it react when you pulled the throttle out?

Justin go to halfords to night and get a new filter,only a couple of quid,then you will see straight a way and sleep sound ;)

I have one but I cant really see tonight, I've just read prochem manual and it doesnt really describe these symptons. I hav'nt descaled for a while could this be a cause?

I like these replies as none of them seem to seriuos! I'm probably worrying over nothing but what could be worst case?

Justin, worst case is your truckmount is knackered and one of us will have to take your work on :D.
Stop being a worry wort, if it was major it would have conked out not gone funny and then rectified its self, just sounds like a blocked filter and the fuel is not running free.
While I think on, you did an oil change, you have refilled to the correct level ?

I would check your orifice first (sorry if sounds rude but that’s what’s it’s called)
Could be sticky needle valve (crap in fuel chamber), spark plugs and or leads. Oil though the exhaust valve problem (compression test should show this if you were local I would lend you my snap-on)

take the air filter off, and run it for a few minutes, if its ok with it off then thats your problem, this happens with my machine now and again, no big deal

Billy's right, those Briggs & Stratton engines struggle to run if the air filter is choked. I think you have probably put a little too much oil in, I did it on my last TM, and it only takes a little too much and it gets drawn into the air filter and you get the problems you have described. You will have to drain a little oil and get a new air filter. What I did, was draw a bit of oiil off, ran it for a couple of hours without an air filter to clear the carb. New air filter then no further problems.

I wouldn't run an engine without a air filter for a couple of hours, unless you really want to knacker it real quickly. i used to service Brigg and stratton engines for a dealer. so DO NOT RUN WITHOUT AIR FILTER just put a new one on.

Sorted! Just cleaned plugs & all filters running like a dream, Lewis could win the championship with this baby!
