Title: Dodgy pump
Post by: russ_clark on March 13, 2008, 08:49:27 pm
Has a few probs recently with a pump recently (shureflo 100psi)
turning itself off intermitently ??? ???
Seems to happen mostly when pole disconnected
Sometimes happens when hose is first connected ??? ???
I do use varistream and it flashes green very fast when this happens.
Could it be the pressure switch on the pump
I am useless at solving probs like this.
Any advice guys and girls
Russ

It wont be the pressure switch because it shouldn't be wired up when using a Varistream.

The rapid flashing light on the Varistream indicates low battery charge.

I think you may be right
Will give it a charge and see what happens.
If that is the case should it be ok with engine running then ???

should be but why not get a back up battery and a decent charger with a trickle setting ,that way you can keep one in reserve if you having trouble, needs to be a trickle for deep cycle batteries i think, split charge relays no good if you not doing the miles ;) that should sort it all what you describe tallys with low charge on battery
