I know how much we all like debating these sort of pics. Sorry the picture isn't the clearest, is was done on my phone and then cropped to size. The windows are leaded and the man was standing on the porch roof. I certainly won't be the first to throw a stone as I've done this in the past.
Just out of interest whats the best way to do this without wfp or standing on the roof, I'm thinking extension pole with squeegee on the end and damp cloth over the squeegee.

i think we have all done that in the past, no way would i do it now though
-
That was me before WFP , hate to say it but it is still the reality to some people
-
I remember the days i used to do things like that it seemed normal and nothing wrong with it although i wouldnt do it now
The guy is only doing his job and probably doesnt know any better too quick to condemn people on here at least hes working and not sat on his backside leaching off the system

Sure he's working, but what makes ya think he aint leaching? They don't go hand in hand in this game unfortunately.

If people say that they have never done this then they must me relatively new to window cleaning and cleaned with WFP straight off. Before i got WFP this was me but i did it on one foot. Thankfully no more.
-
I used to do that all the time and i probably would still be doing it now if i did not change to wfp.

Unger pole with tbar and applicator, then use blade, then scrim.
I am so glad I dont do that anymore, stopped that after the first year my wife bought me the unger pole after she saw me window cleaning one day.

Yes I have done it myself but (and a big but) I have never done it when the tiles were that steep.

At one time if there was a window on the white cliffes of Dover i would have climbed up and cleaned it. ;) just to say i'd been there.

did it for years. Lucky to still be alive. Have done some stupid things in the past and hope I don't do any more.

If you aint seen it.
certainly is ladderless

I've seen someone doing that to a dormer window on the roof of a block of flats two stories up. It was a few years ago before the days of camera phones but I wish I had taken a picture.
The worst bit was watching him walk backwards down the roof and try to hook the ladder with his foot. The ladder was not footed or roped.
I even rope my ladder before I go on a flat roof these days. Bottle has completely gone.
