I think i'm suffering from this here winter blues thing. This weather is realy getting me down, i know it's bad cos' i've been considering other ways of making a living :o The weather's been terrible since xmas up here, it's either -6, raining or gail force winds every day! Can't seem to get a good run together, my income has taken a beating, all my work is mixed up with bitting & batting around the bad weather & i've just had a 4 week run of the worst bad luck of my life! To be honest it's very, very rarely i feel like this, is anyone else feeling similar? Can anyone cheer me up or tell me of their even worse missfortune to make me feel a bit better :'(
Batteling this wind is wearing me out.
A deflated, knackered, feeling sorry for himself, skint, tired, wimp of a man-

If a politician walked in this room now i'm sure it would be his last day on this earth!

If I get down in the dumps, i'll go in the jobcentre for a reality check, that does the trick.
Or I'll make a list of jobs that need doing and try to accomplish them when the weather's bad.
I always think of people in life who are less fortunate (healthwise) and remind myself just how lucky I am to have my independence.

Not much better down this end of the country, i earnt £00.00 on monday, a bit more tuesday and a little bit more than that today. Outgoings seem larger than incomings at the moment, had several regulars phone up and request theirs cleaned "on thursday before Good Friday please" i hope it piddles down that day! Trouble with this job seems to be that all your spare time comes on the grotty days when you can't work.
Tony i really am dissapointed in you, you know you can work in all weathers with wfp and you know one days earnings is a monthly salary to most factory workers. You really are a slacker you know. ::)

I know how you feel...have just been out and thought "when will this weather take a turn"....
As for business....am still building a round and have 2 weeks out of 8 that I have no work at all....fortunatly for me....it's this and next week (when the weather is bad)...
As for feeling better about it all...I have been told that I need another 2 years of accounts to show the mortgage people before they will look at me for a mortgage...despite me having enough saving to put at least 25% depositdown...this is all because I am a one man band.... and that for the past 2.5 years I have been paying more than the amount of mortgage monthly payments on renting...which must prove I can pay said amount....
Now if I were to have a job in a factory and got a contract after 6 months...they would give me a mortgage...so I continue to rent .....
But at the end of the day I am my own boss, no-one dictates when, where and how I work....I can have a very direct influence on my destiny which is more than can be said for being employed...and w/c is very stress free really....
So macmac....all I have to say is....stop whinging you big girls blouse ;)
Dave.

Pingu have you looked at a self certification mortgage were as long as you can put say 20% deposit down you don,t have to disclose your earnings works well for the self employed
Self Certified Mortgages
Self-Certified.GoComparison.co.uk Compare Self Cert Mortgages & Save. Amazing Deals - Top Offers (UK).
-
Just about to say same to you Pingu
Go and see a broker and go the self cert route.
Just make sure you don't over stretch yourself
and you can afford repayments.
If you have saved the deposit that should be pretty simple.

Isnt it funny how we all think of a second job or even changing our jobs when the weather isnt to good. We all do it.

Came home lunchtime to be greeted by my van tax envelope on the doormat. Had a bite to eat and it's chucking it down again! Really getting fed up with this now. On top of that i've got the missus saying "why didn't you just buy a bucket and a ladder instead? look at the money we could have saved!"I'm beginning to think she has a point there - we could have saved about £10,000. But then i wouldn't be at home today - i would be stcking beans in Tesco's. So i'm not sure which is worse this week. ::)
