Title: RO filter change
Post by: Big Dave @ CWC on March 11, 2008, 11:01:26 pm
Hi,. i've got 100gpd ro system, have had since  july 2007, not been used constantly as im still building my round up..... i checked the ppm level and its now at 10ppm, not good as far as i know.  my question is what needs to be changed? to get it back to 0ppm.   i bought it with my freedom trolley from andy mccann at pure freedom but cant get hold of him to ask.

it had two chambers laying flat at the top and three chambers fitted in an upright position at bottom. i havent a clue which is membrane or filters. but obviously one or all needs to be changed.

it happened after i did a flush for the first time by turning a lever fitted in  line to my waste pipe. water came out of both waste and pure water pipe. i did this for 10mins. when i checked water after it was 10ppm.

Can anyone advise me on this?

regards

Dave ???

Normally RO water (depending on how hard/soft the water is) isn't 0 TDS, you almost always need a final polish for that with DI resin to get 000ppm.

The three uprights under the layflats are the prefilters, the ones at the top are the membranes. Probably is time to change the prefilters after that time.

To date I've had no problem contacting Pure Freedom. I understand some have when using e-mail. However, I phoned them yesterday morning with a question and got through straight away. Andy was on another call but I got to talk to another very helpful chap. In the past if no one's been available they've taken my number at called me back. The Phone Number is on their website if you have'nt got it.
