Title: Vivaro Problems
Post by: david68 on March 11, 2008, 08:07:04 pm
Hi
I have a problem with my vivaro van.
The engine cuts out when i come to slow down at junctions.
When it as got warm, it happens less. But first thing in the mornings it seems to happen all the time.

Anybody else came across this problem...

Dave

Could be the air flow mass meter.

i thought airflow mass meter problems showed up more under acceleration ??? or perhaps it works either way ,if it is amm it should be relatively cheap and quick fix tho

Sounds more like the idle sensor if it's when you come to a halt.

Is it under warranty?
I'm sure it'll be covered.

mass flow sometimes doesnt show up on diagnostics i had this once but it sounds similar however you say it happens when slowing down is it when the clutch is dipped? as this also is a sign of the idle control valve , is there not a vivaro forum to check,  maybe worth a google.

No warranty
2002 Model
But will try air flow......Thanks

I did do a search on this problem and its seems common and they still cant find the answer.

The reports show that the van reliability is only 1.2 out of 10.

They say the tansit T280 is good for reliability and the VW t30

Gearbox problems are pre- 55 plate.
New ones are fine. ;)
Transits aren't though apparently....

I have always thought these were excellent vans, but i saw some guys trying to get a 55plate started in asda car park last night, the engine kept cutting out!!! Seams they could be problematic!!
